Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I don't care how rubbish Criatian defending is. It is also made to look that way. The football England are playing is of exceptional quality. 11833
Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Beautiful goal, which all starts with Gordon's skill and bravery, isolated close to England's penalty box, somehow threading a lovely ball to start a textbook counter-attack. 2230

Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I'm just in love with it, and have been ever since my friend Alain de la Mata spun it something like 30 years ago, late one evening, just to see the astonishment on my face. Perfection. 010
Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 03/10/2026It has everything. Melody, drive, excitement, sound, a fabulous set of lyrics, superlative singing and playing, expressing yearning, hope and the excitement (again) of being young. A secret which must be shared. Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Indeed. Nothing malicious in what she did (unlike 95% of Gainsbourg's songs, but that's another matter). 020
Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 02/10/2026The melody, tempo and harmonic progressions were almost identical. I'd somehow managed to un-know a tune which I'd always loved and make myself believe I'd come up with something new. Same thing may have happened to Olivia Dean. Definitely not worthy of a lawsuit! 230
Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I once 'wrote' a very catchy tune which I played back to a couple of my collaborators. They loved it and made no further comment. It's only a few months later that I realised that I'd pillaged a Tom Jobim composition note for note. The only difference was the instrumentation. 101
Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Same here. I find the whole thing bizarre I must say. Yes, a short segment *is* identical to Bill Withers's song, but...I would never call this plagiarism. I genuinely think it's one of those cases of unconscious borrowing which every songwriter will have been guilty of at some stage. 210

Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 01/10/2026In Asia, a colossal market for the PL, L'pool and Man United would be way ahead of MCFC (and most others, to be fair); in Africa, Arsenal. It's not as if City were now a "brand" as powerful as Real Madrid's. 030
Philippe Auclair @philippeauclair.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Those numbers (if you're referring to the CIES study) are highly debatable and should be taken with a pinch of salt, given how clubs (I'm not just talking about City here) are inflating them and how almost impossible it is to distinguish genuine followers from bots. 340
