BREAKING: In a new executive order sent out by the White House, Donald Trump has revoked the federal contractor nondiscrimination executive order, EO 11246, that was signed by Lyndon Johnson in 1965 and has protected employees of businesses seeking federal contracts from discrimination ever since.
(b) The Federal contracting process shall be streamlined to enhance
speed and efficiency, reduce costs, and require Federal contractors and subcontractors to comply with our civil-rights laws. Accordingly:
(1) Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965 (Equal Employment Opportunity), is hereby revoked. For 90 days from the date of this order, Federal contractors may continue to comply with the regulatory scheme in effect on January 20, 2025.
(ii) The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs within the Department of Labor shall immediately cease:
(A) Promoting "diversity";
(B) Holding Federal contractors and subcontractors responsible for taking "affirmative action"; and
(C) Allowing or encouraging Federal contractors and subcontractors to engage in workforce balancing based on race, color, sex, sexual preference, religion, or national origin.(iii) In accordance with Executive Order 13279 of December 12, 2002
(Equal Protection of the Laws for Faith-Based and Community
Organizations), the employment, procurement, and contracting practices of Federal contractors and subcontractors shall not consider race, color, sex, sexual preference, religion, or national origin in ways that violate the Nation's civil rights laws.
(iv) The head of each agency shall include in every contract or grant
award:
(A) A term requiring the contractual counterparty or grant recipient to agree that its compliance in all respects with all applicable Federal
anti-discrimination laws is material to the government's payment
decisions for purposes of section 3729(b) (4) of title 31, United States
Code; and
(B) A term requiring such counterparty or recipient to certify that it does not operate any programs promoting DEI that violate any applicable
Federal anti-discrimination laws.

The directive rescinding President Johnson's non-discrimination executive order doesn't simply repudiate a foundational federal civil rights policy; it's a backdoor effort to force federal contractors to dismantle diversity programs using MAGA lawyers and snitches.

I'm not mad at a baseball player getting paid his money, but its wild to me that MLB has teams that can shell out over $700 million for a player and teams that apparently can't build a stadium without taxpayer money.

It's #DOScember! Here's DOS and Windows 3 running on a... NeXTstation color?! It's also running Mac OS. And NeXTSTEP. All at the same time. And it did that 34 years ago. SoftPC got a version of DOS/Windows from Microsoft that's (partially) compiled for the Motorola 68040. #retrocomputing
A black "pizza box" form factor computer from the very early 1990s. There's a large (21") black color monitor on top of it, showing the NeXTSTEP operating system and Solitaire running both in a Macintosh emulator and in a Windows emulator.

I've read this book as an ebook, but today, i finally bought a paper copy. I grew up in a city centered on the car factory. Both of my parents worked at the factory, and we went from comfortably middle class to having to worry about missing meals when it closed, that is why this book hits hard 📚💙

Today, I rewatched The Ten Commandments, and I gotta say the people freed from slavery seem a bit ungrateful. They just witnessed God free them by visiting plagues on Egypt and parting of the sea, but Moses leaves them alone for a few hours and they are like fuck it there si no god lets have an orgy

As of now, the martial law in Korea is illegal because the Parliament just voted against it. It all comes down to the military and whom they will obey.

The sad truth is that while smart people doubt themselves, idiots never do. A smart person will always second guess, "What if i am not that good? What if i fail?" Meanwhile, an idiot goes, " I am the best." Maybe we should all be a bit more idiotic.

This is what happens when people don't know history. Income taxes at the beginning were advocated for because tariffs were a regressive tax used by governments before income tax, but it was considered unfair because it was paid mostly by the poor, the farmers, and workers. #tax #tariffs
