Final day (6) of our walk & we made it to Wallsend! 86 miles from Bowness. A pleasant riverside walk along the Tyne into Newcastle, stopping for coffee & cake at an Italian café. Carried on past some reminders of coal haulage & many bridges & then left the riverside for the final 5 miles....

Day 4 of our Hadrian's Wall Path. A shorter, mostly downhill stretch from the Old Repeater Station to Cholloford. We passed a milecastle overgrown by oak trees, long stretches of Wall still there & an old temple & a visit to Chesters. Had time for a swim by the bridge. JimBobs ear healing OK now.

We're walking along Hadrian's Wall national trail this week. We've left the car in Newcastle, then caught the train from there to Carlisle. Currently waiting for the bus to Bowness on Solway, where we'll spend the night before tackling the first stage back to Carlisle tomorrow.

Been asked to assist another runner on leg 4 (Wasdale to Honister) of their #BobGrahamRound attempt in August. That should be fun, as it is the best leg (most scenic & usually done in daylight!), but I'll have to brush up on my navigation. Good to be able to help another contender.

No major goals until Autumn - some unfinished business with the Long Mynd Hike, which got cancelled last year. By then I should know if I have a place on the Challenger North Spine.
