Did he say he'd vote Labour?

He's leading them into the wilderness. Such a shame since now, more than ever, we need a technocratic, scientifically credible Green party.

The only time I saw Talking Heads live (Christchurch, NZ in 1984) they effectively broke up mid-set and vacated the stage. We were then treated to half an hour of Tom Tom Club while David Byrne was induced to come out and finish the show. That was their last performance.

False equivalence. Racial justice is not a rhetorical device for you to use whenever you feel like it.

I have just attempted to subscribe, but although I have input my card info and AFAIK completed the process I am unable to access any articles and there is no help page on the site for subscribers or account holders. Also, the email I received had no info on my sub, terms, end date etc.

Is there a single thread on Bluesky that doesn't somehow end up back at JK Rowling?

I don't understand how anyone can 'hate' B&S. Witty, self-deprecating lyrics allied to gorgeous melodies and arrangements. Such a strange thing to take against.

Solvitur ambulando is my favourite Latin phrase. It means "it is solved by walking".
A photograph I took quite early on New Year's Day, 2019, while walking on the Isle of Purbeck during the research for my book Ring The Hill, not long before I did a tweet using the photo and this same caption. I imagine it won't have as much impact here, since loads of people have since reused it, and the phrase is now more widely known. It is still very very true, though. Lots of things are solved by walking. Although not everything, obviously.
