Met a young artist who was selling his art at a flea market and I just HAD to buy one of his pieces! Support artists! And to add to the mix: had a lovely conversation with his parents on supporting creative kids and how important that is during this day and age. Keep it up! ✨🙌✨
Photo of a family (mother, father and young boy about 10 years old) at a flea market and I’m holding up a drawing of an apple with rays coming off of it that the young boy drew.

Today's a good time to reshare this thread. Fantastic whimsy - and I don't often use that term, but works perfectly here - from the brilliant Jim Flora. He's influenced oh, so many artists since he was rediscovered in the '90s. Enjoy! #wardsmorguefile

Fun Hertz car rental ad from 1958 featuring the new 1959 Chevrolet with those magnificent tail fins they were so known for. Paper cut illustrations are a nice addition here, however there's no mention of who did them. #wardsmorguefile

Modelsheet for Babe the Blue Ox from the Disney short PAUL BUNYAN, 1958. The designs look to be drawn by Tom Oreb. The linework and draftsmanship definitely has his styling. #wardsmorguefile

When one of your favorite musicians responds to a drawing you did of her album - Ani DiFranco 🤯😳 Her Dilate album from 1996 was mind blowing to me back then. Such an incredible piece of work!
Photo of a text exchange between Ani DiFranco and her guitar tech who just so happened to be taking my Drink & Draw class where we drew our favorite albums from our college years.

I hosted a Drink & Draw at The Book Bird in Avondale Estates, here in Atlanta, GA last night and I had a blast. It was my first time doing this sort of thing and I totally want to do it again! We made one-page zines and yes, there was drinkin'!

The best Rocky Horror experience I ever had was in 1989 --me & couple of friends went to a showing at the Vogue Theater in Louisville, KY. It was insane. They opened w/ Tim Curry's "I Do The Rock" video (with all the locals singing out the words, of course)...1/2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXPC...

Our hearts are broken. Tim Curry didn’t just play Dr. Frank-N-Furter, he built the home that we all gathered in and gave us permission to be ourselves. Atlanta Rocky family: don’t cry alone. Come home to the Plaza this Friday at 11 PM. Let's do the Time Warp & celebrate him together.

Saw this opening weekend with the accompanying Mickey short, The Prince and the Pauper (with the animated countdown!) and was so taken by the animation. This was the first Disney 2D feature to be entirely digitally painted for the characters.

Just wanted to share one of my favorite photos of one of my favorite artists, taken by another one of my favorite artists. This is Jim Flora, in glorious tweed - taken by his dear friend Gene Dietch in 1970. Style goals for me in my golden years. By the way, Jim is 56 here.
Photo of a man in his 50s, smiling gleefully with sandy brown hair that has grey streaks in it, with dark thick frames and a mustache, wearing a tweed jacket and brown tie, standing next to a barber pole. He's in front of a barber shop window.

Drew this in 2010. We were living in Portland, OR at the time. A lot of fixie talk.
