No, it is telling them to recognize feelings, know they are valid, and know you will continue to feel them. But also know that what you feel is not what a well adjusted person would feel. The point is to use that feeling as a warning light that you need to adjust yourself, not the feeling.

I say keep "scoff" but I agree that they should not be ignored. Those feelings that deserve ridicule are those that cause the worst problems if ignored.

A tough pill to swallow is that, no, our feelings are not always valid. Our feelings are all too often completely illegitimate, and we should just scoff at them, ignore them, and far from letting them fester or guide our action, we should deliberately act in ways that foster better sentiments.

I think another point is that it turns it into an all or nothing scenario where the left shoots itself in the foot. We can't keep going on converts only; we need babies too. If we are going to shake up traditions we need something sustainable to replace it with.

That is ok, you don't have to understand it. We think in different ways. You bravely crusade for good causes; I find good in nuance, humanity even in the crevices of depravity. This will cause us to disagree but generally we are on the same side.

The UN wasn't around yet when the Ottoman empire fell in WW1. That was divvied up by the European allies at the time. UN was more after WW2 telling those European nations to give the land back in a way that would keep anyone from getting too powerful and overseeing that it remained that way.
