Words have *permanently* entered our family vocabulary as a result of the sometimes oh-so-cute mispronunciations of youngsters. For example, to this day we use the word ‘firinched’ when something is completed because that’s how my sister said it as a child. She’s now 51.

I had the pleasure of attending the launch of this great book yesterday. It’s a treasure, recording the history of part of Aotearoa’s progressive movement. Sadly, Roger Fowler has passed away but his family & many contemporary figures (& comrades) were there to celebrate & launch it in style.
Front cover of “Ponsonby People’s Union – at the frontline of community activism in the 1970s” published by Steele Roberts Aotearoa $35. Framed artifact on display at the book launch at Ponsonby Community Centre yesterday (3/10/26): A vintage “Workers Unite Struggle — Smash the Chains of Capitalism“ poster.

>> They also improved the Vision only system to be less susceptible to overpass shadows being interpreted as an imminent hazard. One of the best things about the OTA uodates is that I'm driving a more advanced and capable car than I bought 6 years ago. Incrementally. The iPhone of cars.

My car had forward-looking radar. I found it really useful in rain & at night, but (as widely reported) it did trigger panic-braking when encountering a BIG truck coming the other way. Tesla switched it off in favour of 'Vision only' to reduce 'noise' in the auto driving system. That proved correct.

Actually, fair dues to him on a point I heard him make: Giraud said, “Luxon’s problem is that he is playing John Key, but he’s not John Key” (or words to that effect), which is, you know, a reasonable read*. (*Meaning I agree with him on that, lol.)

I had genuinely never (consciously) heard of him until he popped up in the car recently on Jessie Mulligan’s RNZ Afternoons show (apparently he’s a regular there, on a political panel?) denying Gaza genocide. Most #unimpressive, Stuff platforms him too, it seems. Boosting #dreck ‘commentators’.

I’ve noticed that with Wallace Chapman but hadn’t formed same impression with Jessie Mulligan, altho’ he feature(d) David Farrar disproportionately. As a former radio producer, I know the pressures, but platforming these operatives as if they weren’t part of partisan attack machines is poor work.

Driving recently, listening to RNZ Afternoons 'Political Chat Group' segment, I heard (to me unknown) Dane Giraud interject "not proven!" into a brief, heart-felt statement by Tim Blatt about the genocide in Gaza. That he's an apologist for genocide told me all I need to know about Dane Girard.

it is shockingly easy to post AI generated music under the name of real artists on Spotify. It took us five minutes to do. You can do it to small bands, dead artists, even Taylor Swift. This is a giant loophole in digital music distribution that's widely abused www.404media.co/spotify-ai-m...
