My theory about changing literally nothing about my black pen cross hatch technique but using color pens seems to work! Loved the combo of the edges of the stripes with the smooth contour overall. Used some cheap yoobi liner markers and had issues with the yellow going dry on me. #oliveartclub

Gotta love some direct consumer feedback. It would have worked fine if the designers had made the mountains about a foot taller, but aesthetics came first I guess!

Got to ride a downhill bike for the first time this weekend. Pretty liberating to ride knowing there was absolutely no way I could get outside the capability of the bike and proud of my hard earned hardtail fundamentals being able to transfer over.

It does occur to me that one possible (unintentional) benefit of the NYT framing this as new is now that EVERYONE has a giant vehicle, people will feel less individually guilty or need to justify it. Maybe now we can show how the entire auto and petroleum and highest industry pushed us to this.

I find myself quite exhausted by the laws/arguments around passing various slower road users. If you claim single file riding makes it easier to pass a group, you either have a small car or are not passing safely.

There was a horrific vehicular murder in the Madison, WI area in the early morning today. On his way to crash into some cop cars, a pick up truck driver drove off the road and onto a separated bike path to intentionally murder a person riding their bike.

A story I found about Haiti: In 1999, a group of Haitians were tired of political disorder and dreamed of a better life in the United States. So they built a small, 23-foot boat by hand using pine trees, scrap wood, and used nails. They called the boat "Believe in God."

What we just saw major media do over the last week was the equivalent of a breathless minute-by-minute analysis of what happened between the moment Jim Jones ordered his flock to drink the Kool-Aid and the moment it did so.
