What frustrates me about the non-ai coding advocacy is that it tends to be narrow minded to: only artisanal, expert made, good quality code is acceptable. They fail to understand that good software is expensive and therefore completely out of reach for certain communities and countries.

If anything good can come up from LLMs in coding is the ditch of frameworks if favor of stacks closer to the platform itself. On the web landscape I see no reason to keep investing in bloated frameworks when we can be using HTML, WebComponents, modern CSS, etc. shopify.engineering/back-to-native

"Digital transformation" was the political buzzword through which strategic public functions were transferred to closed, private technological infrastructures in one or two jurisdictions. A de facto privatisation and abdication of sovereignty. With AI, it will get worse than that.

the tragedy is that in-principle access to information was *never* easier. The digital tools available are incredible and cheap - or even "free" (open source). Its a historically significant regression for society to reach such a dystopic point in just a couple of decades.

We had/have the same frustration while trying to explain that LLM outputs are also editorial. That LLMs are trained and programmed to answer in a specific way. Access to information is being monopolized, we are living in dangerous times.

Depending on the "depth" of your elements you might be able to get away with using slotted content in the light DOM if you really want to make use of shadow DOM. For application components which aren't going to be shared elsewhere, then not using shadow DOM is a valid choice.

KoBold launches AI-driven lithium push in DRC
KoBold Metals is involved in nearly 60 explorations projects across three continents. (Image courtesy of KoBold Metals.)
KoBold Metals, the mining firm backed by US billionaires Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, has launched what it calls the largest lithium exploration campaign in history across the Democratic Republic of Congo

The company will deploy artificial intelligence and advanced sensors to target one of the world’s richest and least-explored critical minerals regions.

KoBold will explore 13 licences covering more than 3,000 sq. km, with plans to expand to 5,000 sq. km by year-end, focusing on the mineral-rich Manono region, where some of the highest-grade lithium pegmatites globally have been identified, the company said.
