The tortuous, botched execution of Christa Pike is truly horrifying. And while it feels unique in some ways, in reality it is also only the latest in a history of botched executions going back years — YEARS — in numerous states. Please know: this is the reality of the death penalty in this country.

this makes me ill. this isn't some policy dispute. this is a court of v comfortable ppl making a non-decision, avoiding the crushing harm, int'l law violation, & total abuse of power involved in even one of these 3rd party 'removals'. it's sick.

i mentioned this last week, but it's instructive. the tory govt tried the relatively targeted approach of third-state removal to rwanda. after a pretty substantial evidentiary presentation from both sides, THEY FOUND IT ILLEGAL. and what trump is doing is far worse.

it's evidently too much to ask the rw justices to consider the irreparable harm to individuals treated to such inhumanity. they are complicit in this criminality. shame on all six of them. and shame on us for having a system that allows this illegality.
