Those who "lose" are not typically doing so because of the tuition fees and loans (which they often don't repay). It's because they have 3 years+ when they're not earning money. In other news, people who retire at 64 have lower total career earnings (and fewer regrets) than those who retire at 67.

The March RPI figure is in (4.1%), so we now know that Plan 2 graduates earning above £44,251 will benefit from the 6% interest rate cap, there will be no difference for those earning less. Current students and Plan 5 (postgrad) borrowers will also benefit [1/4]

The government has announced a cap of 6% interest on plan 2 and 3 student loan interest ahead of the publication of the March RPI inflation figure, which is used to set interest rates for the following academic year. Who will benefit? [1/5]

Around a third of 18 year old undergrads now plan to live at home, according to the latest UCAS data. For those in deprived neighbourhoods, the figure is 51% There's a risk that for some students, moving away from home just isn't financially viable any more. www.ucas.com/corporate/ne...

Nice to see a commitment in this week's white paper to make LEO earnings data available for HE applicants on the UCAS website. At the moment, it's tucked away on the 'Discover Uni' site which many applicants don't use. This will be in addition to the historical grades on entry data already provided.
