That is my favourite topic with coworkers: what's for dinner? Do you know a good ______ restaurant? (Recently I've been craving a good pad Thai) Asking people about their traditional foods is a good ice breaker.

On CNN, Bovino called the lady that Alex Pretti was trying to help get back to her feet a "violent, illegal alien." Bovino and ICE lost their credibility a long time ago, but this continued lying to the American Public is ridiculous.

"When a peer-reviewed article in the British Medical Journal suggested last summer that Covid may have been quietly weakening our immune systems, it passed largely unnoticed." archive.ph/4xZji (non paywall link) #Duh #COVID #LongCOVID #MedSky #ChronicIllness
A growing number of scientists believe this may be because Covid can subtly alter immune function.
Last month, a large study published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases went further, arguing that Covid should be viewed as a condition that can leave some people with longer-lasting immune weakness.
Researchers analysed health and blood-test data from about 40,000 patients in China, much of it collected before the pandemic, and then compared it with results from the same individuals after they had been infected with Covid.
This allowed them to track how immune systems changed over time, rather than relying on a single snapshot.
They found that several key components of immune function – including cells involved in fighting infections – were still depleted months after infection.
The effects were most pronounced in men, older adults and people with heart disease.
The authors concluded that, in some cases, Covid may leave the immune system slower to recover, potentially increasing vulnerability to other infections long after the illness has passed.
Since publishing his BMJ article, Nick Tsergas has argued that we need to move beyond what he calls a 'false binary' between those suffering long Covid – the estimated 1.9 million Britons left with ongoing symptoms such as breathlessness, exhaustion and brain fog months or even years after infection – and everyone else.

Canadians are still super pissed at their treatment by the White House people around the world — Europe, Asia — are buying fewer American goods and traveling to the US less … … but with Canadians it’s even moreso booze: spectrumnews1.com/ky/louisvill... tourism: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/19/t...
Arrivals from nearly all regions of the world have dropped, according to the research firm Tourism Economics. Visitor arrivals from Germany fell nearly 12 percent through November, compared with last year. The number of visitors from France plunged by nearly 7 percent. Arrivals from South Korea were down almost 6 percent.

But the sharpest retreat came from Canada, the second-biggest source of foreign tourists in 2024, after Mexico. Arrivals fell nearly 26 percent through November compared with last year, when Mr. Trump first suggested making Canada the “51st state.”The most dramatic quarterly drop off in exports occurred in Canada, where U.S. spirits exports fell below $10 million amid the 85% plunge in the April-through-June quarter, the report showed.

Elsewhere, exports of American spirits to the European Union — the U.S. industry’s largest export market — fell 12% in the second quarter, the council said. Exports to the United Kingdom dropped 29% and exports to Japan decreased 23%, it said.

The pain was felt across a range of spirits categories, with quarterly declines of 13% for American whiskey, 14% for vodka, 15% for cordials and 12% for brandy, it said.

Just a friendly reminder that we can comment or joke about someone without resorting to comments about their weight, size of their sex organs, looks, etc. If they are an abhorrent person, you can just say that. People don't need to see you making fun of someone for something that they experience.
