Surely all development of large language models/AI should stop right now, & the efforts put into implementation of already fantastically productive AI functionality through companies/governments etc. Then we get the benefits without the risk Techies won't do this themselves. Nor will private equity

I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.

Surely the Reform party political broadcast tonight was recorded as a tribute, but with an expectation that many would take from it that she was a martyr in the fight against the establishment etc. Ok n my opinion, she used to be ok/fine, then was radicalised with hate by Brexit.

Investment from renewables will go to these new marginal oil fields. The decision will contribute to ongoing sliding on net zero. Investment will fall in line, as uk seen not to be serious on transition. Further +ve influence to other countries lost, while others move way past us to the future.

As I board the ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki, I’m reminded yet again of three things about the EU: 1) You don’t sacrifice any of your national identity or culture by being part of the EU. Estonia remains Estonia. Finland remains Finland 2) Schengen is great. 3) Brexit was and is shit.
