On this Peter Oborne column in @bylinetimes.bsky.social September issue, I can certainly 100% agree. The World Tonight and the Midnight news cut by BBC News does feel like a bereavement. Comments on Rajan, and Mishal Hussain - yes, quite right. BBC, beloved, but heading in the wrong direction.

@mrjohncrace.bsky.social Thank you for your Diary in Sat's Guardian Well done for coming clean on ULEZ & 20mph limits So important for those with standing to speak in favour of such projects, particularly a turn around story And well done Sadiq Khan @london.gov.uk for such commitment, as Johm says

Peter Oborn's To-Do list, for the UK govt. - end party donations - public service/civil service - regulate newspaper ownership and sort ofcom/cttee on business appts - implement PR - Royal commission on Brexit Risk for the govt, but if done well, a completely diff feeling and perhaps save Britain.

@iandunt.bsky.social nails it. How about electoral reform right now by starmer? Done cleverly, designed to make us all feel empowered again, and to pull the rug from Reform who finally ate not calling for it. Needs guts. Come on @uklabour.bsky.social go for it.

"we're seeing hundreds of believers being appointed to staff positions in key places...and that's gonna have an impact 40 years from now" Doug Wilson. Christian nationalist. Make up your own mind.

So UK needs to explain what Europe it wants closer ties with. Is it the superpower to stand up for rule of law, justice & decency? Or the loose bunch of squabbling misfits, hanging on to the coat tails of one dictator or another? EU army, federal superstate, UK at the heart. How about it?

Peter Thiel meeting conservatives last January. Labour protecting the content and conclusions after FT foi request. This should be blown wide open. We need to stand together against these awful people.

And a pretty reasonable conclusion. Taxing imported food based on it's carbon footprint, yes, why not? Could be applied for animal welfare too. And across many other sectors. It's pretty obvious really.

"The Brexiters are partly to blame for farmers' growing despair.Just as they had no plan for the economy once we'd left the EU, they had no idea what to do once they'd cut their hated CAP subsidies. The Johnson govt dithered & blathered, offering small & fiddly grants" Brexit not IHT is the problem.

Mob Rule Rules, from Peter Osborne in Byline Times. Exactly this. What is wrong with our media? This is a massive problem.
