Farage’s legacy is that he made “being a cunt” not just a legitimate political position, but the default one. Every party is now judged on seriousness based on how cruel and violent they’re willing to be.

Plenty to reflect about re: the Arday affair, but I'm going to repeat this one thing. The playbook the right used here is effective even though it's not especially sophisticated, as it relies on the audience to do the dirty work. I've been calling it "Trojan horse propaganda", let's go with that. 1/

I would say a profession that proudly announces *Rod Liddle* is among the best of them, and then digs its heels in on their inalienable right to hound minor public figures to death just for fun - really, because they want to do it and they like it - is not bothering to hide what it is.

Using the Emergency Alert system for general public service announcements and scaring the bejesus out of people will just cause people to turn off the emergency alert feature. Very, very shortsighted and stupid from a UK government desperate to be seen to be doing something while doing nothing.

The middle section which contains Karl Marx and a chapter of Capital wherein Marx explores the nature of value through the production of coats.

And the last section wherein the person asks "what the fuck is a yard of linen"
