Honestly can't decide which of these color schemes I like better. #art #characterdesign

A character made of three white clouds, with the top/largest one having a simple face. The eyes are yellow, with small thunderbolts crackling off that resemble eyelashes.

The character has blue-gloved hands floating beside them. A halo that looks like cirrus clouds floats above her head. The halo is white like the main body, with some light gray outlining it.

everyone wants to tell artists what to do and i wish we could shift to telling audiences what to do sometimes. if you liked webcomics that were on tapas, follow somewhere else. learn to use RSS. don't let the seamlessness of apps turn your brain into soup. you can change your habits

"Not every male character attempting to escape the confines of masculinity is a trans woman" is a statement I fully agree with at face value but it's really annoying whenever it's being used to shout down people making trans readings.

People who have used an Xbox controller to play SNES games--do you map your controller based on button names (A = A, X = X, etc.) or based on button position (A = left = B, X = top = Y, etc.)?

Had a stray daydream that the next 3D Mario game centered around Astrology, with power ups based on a new in-universe Zodiac. Both Rosalina and Kamek are revealed to be super nerdy about it and share it with their respective alliance, and Bowser goes sicko with it. Title: "Super Mario Stargazers".

Assuming Metroid Ravenous is developed by MercurySteam again (which...come on, duh), it's worth noting Samus Returns was a remake while Dread was a revival of a years-old concept. Ravenous, in turn, may well be a fully original MercurySteam creation.

Fun fact: "Reviewing an AI made translation" is more work for translators than just translating it themselves, because AI translations do not pass the sniff test beyond the most superficial. It's a loophole companies use as an excuse to underpay translators, and nothing else.

You know, I'm still not the biggest fan of Star Fox 2026's character designs, but at least when they took a swing on the new style they committed and stayed internally consistent. Instead of, say, packing Detail into every square inch of key characters while simply HD-ifying everyone else.

Key art of Star Fox (2026), depicting Slippy Toad, Falco Lombardi, Fox McCloud, and Peppy Hare

Screenshot from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (2026), showing Link watching two townspeople dance. Link's design is far more detailed and intricate than the townspeople's.

Legitimately what reason is there to buy the OOT remake? It looks more realistic and plays a bit smoother, but no way that's worth $60. I can already play OOT on my Switch 2.

What's ironic, is OoT is about the unstoppable passage of time, winds shifting, lives changing. Childhood drifting away, memories fading, friends grown apart, unrecognizable next time you see them. It teaches you that things cannot remain the same. The purpose of the remake is to remain the same.

the entire reason the gaming industry is so dogshit right now is the domino effect from "putting aside" lootboxes. "putting aside" any controversy only serves to benefit from the people causing it, this isn't new and we shouldn't "let it slide sometimes"
