Agouti markings on cows are so pretty! Have a minotaur, as I'm learning to draw her face.
A sketchy pencil portrait of a minotaur on brown paper. She has dark marking covering most of her snout, with lighter markings around the eyes and circling her nose. She's looking at the "camera" and smiling.

One of my favourite bakery stall sellers is retiring (partially?), so I made her a little thank you card for all the years of being a consistent friendly face in my life for probably over a decade.
A little watercolour card of two cats sitting underneath a tree.

The cat in front is grey and white, lounging lazily leaning back against the tree, an elbow propped on a mossy rock, wearing sunglasses and smiling.

The other cat (orange tabby) is sitting more forward, excitedly licking their lips while holding an enormous cinnamon roll.

There are three small, red flowers in the grass around them.

Hot dang, this makes things SO MUCH easier for the dinosaur project thingy! (The site didn't have Einiosaurus specifically, but Styracosaurus is close enough similar-ish in size so I think it's fine as a stand in.)
A visual size comparizon with silhouettes of Styracosaurus albertensis (4.8m), Troodon formosus (2.4m) and Dromaeosaurus albertensis (2m), with a helpful silhouettes of an adult human and child holding hands next to them for scale. Representing the relative sizes of dinosaur cows, the Singing People and bird hounds of my dinosaur project thingy, respectively.

The hoof peoples. There had to be a drawing depicting all three species of people in this story's setting, to see how big they each are compared to each other.
A marker drawing on brown paper of three characters.

From left to right there is a centaur and a faun who seem to be having a conversation, and behind the faun stands a minotaur watching them.

The centaur is approximately a head taller than the faun, while the faun only reaches the minotaur's ribs.

The centaur's back slopes upwards towards the head to support the nearly vertical "upper torso", and their arms are thin. (This is because the part that looks like an upper torso is in fact all neck, the part resembling rib cage being a highly specialized duplicate hyoid apparatus. The arms are thin to keep them lighter for the upper neck to carry easier.)

The faun is short with long goat like neck and slender legs. They are literally light footed, making them agile.

Finally the minotaur is tall, long legged and beefy enough to make them the biggest of the three, being heavier than the centaurs despite the latter being full on hexapods.

A sketch I've been poking at lately. Originally intended as a line up to see how tall the hoof people are next to each other, it ended up looking like a remake of the very first sketch I did of the concept, haha! Designing clothes that look nice but don't cover up everyone's markings is hard.
A sketch on brown paper, depicting six characters standing side by side.

From left to right, a skinny old faun standing with their hands on their hips, wearing a shoulder shawl of some sort and ankle length skirt.

Another, taller faun standing in more neutral pose, wearing a shorter kilt/skirt thingy.

A tall minotaur with similar kilt/skirt as the previous one. The fauns are at most tall enough to reach their ribs.

A shorter, rounder faun with long ears and a short skirt, with hands on their hips.

A skinny, bald faun with multiple necklaces, shoulder shawl similar to the first faun, and long skirt. They're standing arms crossed.

One more faun, a fluffier and shorter one with fists on their hips, wearing a loincloth/shorts kind of cloth. Their hair is on a braid over their shoulder.

New sketchbook needed some dinosaurs in it! Two Feathers and Sunbird came to greet you all with White Path, and Bug was also there, but apparently his wattle started itching right before the picture got taken.
A marker drawing on brown paper depicting four dinosaur characters.

From left to right: Sunbird (full name Colour of Sun And Fire), a male troodontid dinosaur with gray and white feathers, a black hood marking covering his neck, a white face disc similar to owls and a fiery orange stripe on top of his head. He's looking to his side towards

White Path, a piebald colored Einiosaurus cow. She's mostly golden brown with slightly lighter neck and shoulders, with dark brown eyebrows, frill rim and tail mane, with white spots on her face and hips and tail.

In front of her is Two Feathers, a female troodontid (species known as the Singing People). She looks similar to Sunbird, but without the hood marking or the orange head stripe. She's smiling and waving at the "camera".

Sitting next to them is Bug, a domedticated Dromaeosaurus, basically a dinosaur dog. He's dark brown with darker saddle and mask markings, blue wattles resembling small, floppy ears, and white markings on his neck, belly and tail and wing tips. He's sitting and scratching an itch with one foot.

A small portrait of the old lady goat (tentatively naming her Olga, I think) for the hoof people setting. I quite like her shapes!
A sketch of a faun/satyr character on brown paper.

She has an angular face with prominent chin, perky ears, and long horns curling around said ears. One ear has a notch. Her hair is short-ish, reaching only one third of the way down her quite long neck.

She's smiling!

Turns out ArtFight is still going on! Also, I somehow hadn't drawn a single dinosaur this year, so I had to squeeze one in while I still could. Character search brought up this delightful Centrosaurus called Pank belonging to firestorm_shiba. He was such a fun character to draw!
A portrait of a centrosaurus character drawn with markers on brown paper. The character is mostly white with pink and strawberry red spots on his nose, frill, neck and under his eyes. There is also red segment halfway up his nasal horn. The character is smiling.

ArtFight attack number 5! The eponymous space puppy for Bloodhound Omega! I just really like the character. The character design is just such a delight that always makes me smile to see!
A portrait drawing on brown paper of an alien canine character of elongated proportions. The character is smiling.
The drawing is otherwise monochromatic, except for blue batches above the eyes, red blotches under the eyes, a shiny golden omega symbol of the Greek alphabet, and a slight pink tint of the character's snoot.

My phone informed me it's my brother's birthday today, so I spent part of a coffee break at work drawing him a birthday card. He has a black cat, hence the subject. (Text says approximately: "GRATS! W(ishes): ur sis")
A photo of a post it note with a black cat doodled on it.

Above the cat there's a text in all caps saying "ONNEE!"
And below is a tiny text saying "T: Siskos".

The cat is sitting, has wide eyes and a small blep. There are also two sparkles next to the cat's face.

At the right edge of the photo the ballpoint pen used in the doodle peeks into the frame.

ArtFight attack number 4 this year is Biscuit for @ravennowithtea.bsky.social Such good (literal) sea horse. So fluffy! I'm just fully treating ArtFight as an excuse to see what kinds of things I can do with the new brown paper sketchbook now.
A drawing of a sea horse, a literal one, as in a horse with a fish tail, done on brown paper.

The character is covered in short yet very fluffy fur with fish scales showing through at some parts, its body in an S-shaped curve mid movement.

The character is drawn with pencil, shaded with white brush pen (Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen Brush) and the front half and the tail tip of the character is colored with green highlighter.

My first ArtFight attack this year is Kittenbee for @eskiworks.bsky.social ! Used this as an excuse to try how my new brown paper sketchbook handles Copic markers. Draw to scale, she's actually just a single inch long, not including the tail and limbs!
Tiny Kittenbee enthusiastically leaping after a small cloth eating moth (I've been dealing with an infestation in my apartment for a while now, so this counts as my vengeance).

Kittenbee is a teeny tiny little adorable cat with a magnificent, supremely fluffy tail, bee wings and two antennae. She's colored approximately like a bumble bee.A photo of the corner of my sketchbook with my thumb holding it for scale. The Kittenbee is approximately the size of my thumb tip.

Used these guys as an experiment to see if this new sketchbook can stand watercolors. Not amazingly, but still better than expected! Might change some of them later, not sure if I'm really feeling the gray on the bottom left one, but I'm quite liking these so far!
The same five faun characters as in the quoted post.

The first one is now reddish brown, with black markings covering their neck and abdomen, with striking white markings on their hooves, hands and face.

The second one kept the white marking covering them from their cheeks to their waist, the rest is now gomden brown with lighter hair.

The third one is now fully reddish brown, except dor a wide white band around their waist/torso and face, with some small freckles of the reddish brown within the white. There are dark brown stripes framing their white face marking.

Second row the next one is white from armpits down, their head, neck and shoulders being gray. They now have white chin and eyebrows, and their hair is slightly darker gray.

The final one is now golden sandy brown, with darker brown markings circling around their nose and forehead, collar bones, hand and legs, and with darker stripes framing their lighter belly.

Basically all of them have darker dorsal stripes along their spines, except where those get interrupted by white markings.

Drew some fauns for the same setting my centaurs and minotaurs are from. These guys are specifically the minotaurs' adoptive family. Mainly exploring their shapes, but got carried away with marking planning. (Haven't figured out markings for the top right one yet, but I'm liking the others!)
A drawing of five fauns on brown paper.

The first one is skinny with "bald" head and small horns, with black marking covering their neck and stomach.

The second one is shorter and more round, and has slightly longer horns, very long ears and even longer hair. They are white from cheeks down all the way to their belly button.

The third one is the still markingless one. They are very fluffy, with long dark hair covering their eyes, and with horns that curve out to the side. They have magnificent pantaloons, as they are at least 80% pure fluff between hips and ankles.

Bottom row, left one is long and skinny in an angular way, looks old. They have round horns curling around their perky ears. Their hair is on a bob cut, and they are white starting from halfway of the chest down.

Final one is taller than the others. They have black nose and dark hair, wirh droopy ears and their horns curl upwards at the back. They have a black necklace type marking, and they are missing their left hand from wrist down.

Most of the drawing is taken up by slender yet fluffy unicorn, jumping over a small, fluffy tabby cat with white tail tip and blaze on its forehead. A photo of a grassy back yard with forest on the background and some scattered trees surrounding an outdoor sauna, as is the national scenery of Finland.

The sky is still blue with some white clouds as sun JUST set few minutes earlier, and it hasn't had time to get dark yet. Though honestly it doesn't really get much darker than this as the sunrise will happen around 3 in the morning. The sun is just barely below the horizon for few hours before getting up again.

There needed to be more art of these two interacting.
A watercolor drawing of two characters, master Teoth the human and his body guard Xaranthras the Termrean dragon.

Teoth is talking to someone off screen and saying "Oh, no thank you. Xaranthras?" While gesturing at the other with a hand.

Next to him and slightly behind Xaranthras turns his head to look at the same direction as Teoth, snarling and saying: "My client wants you to LEAVE."

I finally have one (1) human character in my ArtFight roster! Only took me, like, a year and half to design and learn to draw him. Master Anatekenan Colbeken-Teoth, or master Teoth for short.
A marker portrait of Teoth, a human character.

He has brown skin with white piebald markings on his chin and forehead. His long hair is dark brown except for a single white stripe where the forehead marking intersects with the hairline. His eyes are brown.

He has dangly blue and gold earring, and the part of his clothing that's visible is righ blue with golden clasp on the collar. On his chest there's a golden brooch thingy with four bright blue tassles hanging from it.A partial reference sheet of Teoth meant to supplement the character art in the quoted post.

Top left is the face portrait in the previous picture. Below it is a detail shot of his right hand, picturing white markings covering his entire middle finger and half of his index finger.

On the right is a full body shot from behind showing the back of his outfit.

In the top middle of the sheet is a more detailed picture of the chest broach thingy, with a clearer picture of it's middle showing a carving on it. Below that there's a proper drawing of the carving, the Colbeken-Teoth family crest. The crest resembles a cartouche like those of ancient Egyptian pharaohs. From left to right the pictograms inside the cartouche are crescent moon, three dots, two very stylized ship sails that might as well be knives, a plant looking like an arrow tail, and a loafing unicorn laying on two horizontal lines.

Master Teoth, Xaranthras's boss finally has a proper design (in time for ArtFight even!) Rejoice!
A marker drawing of two characters standing side by side.

On the left is Xaranthras, a "Termrean dragon". He looks vaguely like an anthropomorphic deer mixed up with ceratopsid dinosaur, his neck is nearly as tall as his torso, and at the back of his head is a crest that resembles a ceratopsid head frill with horns growing out of it. He looks displeased. He's wearing bright blue vest over a lighter blue shirt, there's a wide yellow and orange belt thingy on his waist tied together by a blue cloth. His pants are grayish.

Next to him is Master Teoth, a human with brown skin with pale piebald markings on his chin, forehead and couple fingers. His long hair is dark brown with a white stripe where the forehead marking meets his hairline. He's wearing fancy looking draping clothing in multiple shades of blue, with some golden details for decoration. He's looking at a small stack of papers he's holding in his right hand, and his left hand rests on the handle of a cane.

My sketchbook of the past two years is finally getting full, and browsing through it I noticed I had forgotten to finish coloring this art of my previous DnD character! Had to dig the first color portrait of them to compare; Puro at the start of adventure vs Captain Puro, the hero.
Two marker drawings side by side of the same character.

They are a tabaxi (anthropomorphic cat) with torbie markings: mostly light gray with black stripes, dotted by blotches of orange with brown stripes. She has green eyes. She's semi-long hair, with floofy tail.

On the left they are standing rather awkwardly stiff looking, while holding a curved sword in one hand. They are wearing partial leather armor, with brown pants and green sash/belt/kilt thingy. On their left ear are three dangling golden earrings. (Reference to Roronoa Zoro from One Piece as an inside joke with one of my DnD buddies)

On the right the character is standing proudly, with a lop sided smile. They are wearing a wide brimmed hat with some decorative feathers and a reddish brown cape (Cloak of Billowing for the DnD nerds out there. Bought for her by her party as a joke). Her armor is mostly the same as in the old drawing, but among it there are now hidden an arsenal of bladed weapons. The old curved sword is sheathed on their belt, while on the other side they now carrying a fancy looking rapier. There are at least two dagger handles poking out behind her back, and there's three daggers on a belt tied around her leg. There's also a thin dagger handle poking out of her leg bracer

Aaaaand he has colors!
The same reference sheet of Xaranthras as in the quoted post, this time in color!

Xaranthras is sandy brown with the top of his head being darker brown. He has white chin with dark markings at the corners of his mouth. There is a white marking running down the front of his neck all the way down to his chest. He has darker dorsal stripe that spreads into spots at his hips. His hands and feet are white with darker markings at their backs. His tail- and ear tips are dark as well. His eyes are very pale yellow. Also the palms of his hands as well as the bottoms of his feet are leathery, slightly desaturated reddish brown.

Working on his character sheet! Wonder if I've forgotten anything important..
Line art of the character sheet for Xaranthras.

On top left there's a side profile of his head pointing left. His expression is technically neutral, though his facial anatomy and markings make him seem annoyed. There's an arrow and the word "brain" pointing at a round bulge at the back of his head underneath a horned skull extension that resembles the frill is a ceratopsid dinosaur. He has a mane running down the back of his neck that's cropped short, except for a slightly longer portion on top of the small hump at the base of the neck.

Next to the right is his face, also in side profile, but this time with his mouth open, displaying his double fanged teeth, that are like a cross between a dromedary camel and a pig or a monkey.

On the top right corner is a diagram of his head as seen from above, to show all the details of the head crest, with eight pairs of horns lining it, plus two extra small horns on its midline. There's also a guide to the side that marks the head crest (minus the horns) to be of equal length to the face half of the head, when measured at ears.

To the left below there's a full body drawing of him standing in three quarters view in a neutral pose. His neck is almost as long as his torso, and is equal in length with his thighs. His stands in semi digitigrade stance, where his heels are only slightly off the ground and his legs are mostly straight. There is an arrow with the text "wrist" pointing at the titular joint being located halfway between his knuckles and elbow. The tips of his fingers reach his knees.

Next to the right is a detail shot of his eye. The iris is large and pale, with the pupil being slightly horisontally elongated, but only slightly.

Next to the right is a full body shot from three quarters view from behind, showing the bottom of the head crest, a dorsal stripe and his short-ish fluffy tail.

Running out of text space here, but there are additional detail shots of his lower jaw markings, hands and bottom of his feet.

Decided that if Xaranthras's boss is going to have an ArtFight profile, might as well make one for Xaranthras too. Behold, the first ever face of this guy that's both up to date AND in color!
A portrait of Xaranthras, a "Termrean dragon".

He looks kinda like a mix of an ungulate and a ceratopsid dinosaur, having a head crest vaguely similar to the ceratopsid frill pointing backwards behind his head with several horns growing from its edge. He has pointy, upwards ears and pale, piercing eyes. His fur is mostly golden brown with white chin and throar, while the top of his head from his eyebrows back over the entire crest is darker. He has very short, dark mane running down the back of his neck.

This might be cheating for me specifically to reblog this, but I am kinda curious what people would assume based on my work. (What counts as a fandom anyway.)
