Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

The only reason I don't sell my printed fabric publicly is because I'm worried commercial companies would steal the artwork (I've had some odd run-ins in the past), my original plan for Palaeoplushies was to sell sewing kits for folks to make but generally people wanted the finished thing!

The wonderful thing about handmade anything is that there's really no downside to "giving away the secrets". There's a limit to how much a person can make and if they want to devote the necessary hours to doing so, I guess we'll just embrace them as a colleague

I started adding a note with all the pigment details on in paint sets I sell. & I got an Etsy DM from a customer asking why cos that's 'giving away the recipe'. Why? Cos enuf people have asked. Also: I don't mind if people make their own! Life's too short to see everyone else as the competition.

My hand holding up a little printed note giving the pigment index names in each watercolour in a set of 6 paints called 'Light on the Fens'. The writing is pretty small and illegible from here but the point is: this is a note I put in paint sets I sell, to let people know the pigment ingredients.
