The official Democratic view on Trans Rights is that it's a losing issue that the voters they *want* to get don't care about. Any Democrat adopting a position that Trans people need to understand they can't be supported right now means that Dem doesn't want a vote from the base...only Republicans.

As an older person from the south/southwest (slave states) I remember being taught decades ago that the Civil War and that was REALLY unnecessary, because segregation and slavery was doomed to failure and everyone knew it. The fact that Trump can't "overturn" a law passed in a state doesn't change the fact that he seems to THINK he can. There are dozens of things now he believes he has "ordered" to happen that didn't actually happen. NONE OF THAT excuses that him and his supporters believe it SHOULD BE TRUE.
