Since the internet seems to be awash with Puppet Character Design talk, I'm revisiting a game that always struck me as kinda puppet-y as a kid: Sin. These character renders, with their smooth-shaded, doll-like proportions and "realistic" textures layered on top were always really fun to me.

DOOM '98 Imagined what if id Software released an additional entry in the Doom series in 1998, using a technological mix between id Tech 2 and GoldSrc engine. Going for the blend of fantastical and grounded, which would be in vein of Half-Life and System Shock 2.

Moody empty room that has a lift which will take players to higher floors and the previously mentioned thunderbolt weapon.

Main open space area with rocket launcher and mega health pickups. Balcony above has a nice view down to this area and houses yellow armor for lurking players.

Pentagram powerup located on other side of the map. This area has broken concrete walls and more natural rocks. Purple teleport glows brightly at the distance.

Oh, that's nice. The original Doom-engine version of Total Chaos is up on GOG, updated to UZDoom. It requires you own Doom 2, which is a bit silly. The engine is fully open-source and I don't think the game contains any Doom assets.
