Agree, was wondering the same thing. I know the initial modeling analysis still showed a net benefit, even with quite a modest efficacy estimate. However, this trial shows essentially no benefit, so will curious to see the MAGI trial results and an eventual meta-analysis.

As #AMR in #gonorrhea continues to rise, we were hopeful the #menB vaccine trials might show some efficacy to support the observational data. Still curious to see #MAGI trial results, hopefully soon! There still might be some promising gonorrhea-specific vaccines on the horizon🌅🙏🏽

The phylogenomic analysis also shows that more recent ceftriaxone resistance is occurring in different genetic backgrounds, suggesting expanding spread. While we know ceftriaxone resistance is a growing problem in the Asia-Pacific, it might be worse than we thought. #gonorrhea #AMR #STIsky

This is particularly interesting because #penA60 likely traces back to the Asia-Pacific, yet many detections come from regions with more robust surveillance systems. The implication is that ceftriaxone-resistant #gonorrhea may be substantially under-detected where the prevalence is highest.
