If a man can be replaced with throw pillows, we must ask the question: why had he not already been replaced with throw pillows😌

hilarious GP is filling out form for sleep study. It asks male or female. Apparently male is +1 point on diagnostic criteria. He looks at me: ? "You're biological male... I mean your body is male." I look down at my cleavage. "I mean for purpose of the sleep study..." Me: "put female Him: "ok"

Today "a little secret" it is cherry pie. Initial opening is a cherry liquor. We then get into the cherry pie. Cherries and short pastry. A lot of additional complexity and richness. Though the complixity fads, the core remains even after 13 hours. A gormand I kinda like. Not sticky smelling.

Open floor plan offices are just strictly worse than cubical farms, right? Like not a lot worse, but a bit.

I was planning for a really quiet vacation. That's why I booked Wednesday-Friday in the off season. I failed to realise: it is the school holidays.

I am guessing Acid + Bleach? (We once got the office evacuated as two plumbing came to unblock a pipe, one out in acid, the other not knowing put in bleach. And the former experimental chemistry PhD across the room was like 'idk what's going on but everyone needs to leave now')

I love how horny this historian in ancient Greece was for Celtic men. And also how a big moustarsh but no beard is absolutely not the current stereotype of a high ranking Celt. (From: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_bl...)
Diodorus Siculus, a 1st century BC Greek historian, described in detail how Celtic people bleached their hair: "Their aspect is terrifying... They are very tall in stature, with rippling muscles under clear white skin. Their hair is blond, but not naturally so: they bleach it, to this day, artificially, washing it in lime and combing it back from their foreheads. They look like wood-demons, their hair thick and shaggy like a horse's mane. Some of them are clean-shaven, but others—especially those of high rank—shave their cheeks but leave a moustache that covers the whole mouth..."

the fact that there are bots flooding Facebook and Instagram comments sections on any trans related post (positive it negative) is going to continue to normalise transphobia which will further escape online. Thus we're fucked in the medium term. It's gonna get worse. Meta is such a big demographic

It's about what you just said. them: ...what? me: ghosts don't "live" anywhere, fuckwit

I didn't realise that acrylics would 1. Not need the extension bit replaced unless it breaks 2. Be more robust even than builder gel. I think because the acrylic extension is more sturdy than my nails

Like honestly people saying Claude write good code (but bad designs or w/e) I think have just let their standards slip. Not only is it immensely verbose. It makes obvious algorithmically bad choices. Like a something that can be in n*log(n). by sorting first, it does with a double loop for n^2

I have done this. It seems to work. It might actually be too strict but we will see. github.com/oxinabox/Lay... Probably going to roll it out to all my repos on my personal github. Then in a few months prepare to fight people to get it rolled out to stuff I maintain in github orgs.

"Obviously correct" is a key metrics for tests. Far more than SOLID or DRY. Don't refactor them to reduce duplication. Hard code answers that are obviously correct. Make them really simple and non-extensible. Because your tests don't have tests. So it's needs to be obvious they are right.

there is a PR to an open source project I maintain. There has been a PR open for 2 months. It adds a feature I have wanted. It's AI slop. The tests are not obviously correct. And the code uses 20 lines to do what can be done better in 5. It's not even a big PR. But it's so demotivating to review.

laws have no meaning. like nominally they are rooted in the states ability to use force of arms to enforce them. And the state having more force of arms than anyone else. The state not being able to enforce its laws against the head of state is only true for ... niche types of government.

Today we have "a city on fire". You know the smell when you stir up ashes of a fire that's long burnt out? That is the opening notes and it sticks around.fir a good 4 hours. Initially there is a slight burnt chemical smell to it as well. By about 4 hours thos resolves into the scent of a burnt match

Imaginary Authors: Cape Heartbreak. Opening note is fresh air in a forest. First hour is fir and strawberry. Which surprisingly works. Then the strawberry mellows I actually adore this perfume so much. I kept catching my scent. My big criticism is it really doesn't last more than 5 hours AFAICT

"every storm a serenade" this perfume id supposed to smell like briny sea air from the coast. It does this very well. Initial notes of eucalyptus quickly calmed down and integrated. Does make me think of long rotten crab shells. I think it does have a nice hint of ozone, giving storms.

Imaginary Authors: Bull's Blood. I have been kinda dreading this one NGL. Opening is particular bloody. It fades a bit and then the tobacco and sandalwood rises. Which are scents I like. But all in all that is a no from me. Blood remains strong for ar least 9 hours. Unfortunately.

I am considering adding an Agents.md file to all the open source repos I maintain telling agents not to open PRs. That they can contribute to PRs but not open pull requests directly not generate text to go in PR opening posts. To force a minimum level of ownership. How should I word it?
