Right wing politics are despised by most people, because they actively make people's lives worse, and they know it intuitively. It's a decidedly bad reflection on our "democracy" that political decisions are taken based on what is useful for those in power, and an indictment on capitalism at large.

Conservatives don't see children as human beings, they see them as property, and property doesn't have autonomy, it has owners. Education is a threat to capital, so the resources to education are deconstructed and prohibited to preserve capitalist's power. Decisions like this help both worldviews!

Bad? Yes, late stage capitalism is decaying into fascism once again. But also once again it's a fascist party "winning" with less than 50%, before turnout is even accounted for, in one state. The fascists are here, but they aren't as popular as they claim, we have democracies vulnerable to power.

There is a small war being waged on the surveillance state across the US What's funny is that these reveal that they do biometric data but they will still lie and say it's for license plates

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the criminals who vandalized several flock cameras in a South Carolina town by spraying expanding foam on them.

Authorities believe the at-large criminals snuck up behind the cameras with spray foam canisters and sprayed the lenses before the cameras had a chance to ID them.

My take on the kids in the library thing is that if you want to use free, public spaces, you need to increase your tolerance of people who are unlike you and who also want to use those free, public spaces. That means children. It also means homeless people and people you think are weird-looking.
