- So what did your friends enjoy most about your birthday? The outstanding and varied cuisine or the scintillating and inclusive programme of activities? - The bit where you said, "Oh bollocks, what shall we do now? OK guys, get kazoos & wigs & let's do a parade round the park."

"When I started, I was dealing with boys who'd go into a pub, drink 3 pints of cider with some old men, & vomit in the toilets. Then the government spent millions stopping that, so now they're sitting in the park with junkies vaping DIY spice & ending up on psychiatric wards."

Just because a building is built doesn't mean it ought to be there forever. but this was a long-serving parish with a lot of history in the Ancoats area, it could have made a great community space if it wasn't camped on for profit. and it would seem now that the camper played the long game and won.

How we dry sunflower seeds: put them on muslin laid on a gantry over the warm air exhaust of the washing dehumidifier. Otherwise they tend to sit around and rot.

One suspects this school-induced mysophobia relates to the conversion of grass play areas to artificial surfaces (bonus: raised flooding & overheating risk), & wonders if it also ties into the presentation as a woman of a male teacher - biophobia stranger than anything Victorian

Strategically moving bins into the gutter of a road with heavy, fast-moving traffic - Monk Bridge Road - in order to allow schoolchildren to walk along the narrow pavement, one wonders why councils don't simply forbid bins on pavements & thus begin to displace some parked cars

There are lots of roads in the Dales which would benefit from this. Access restricted to permit holders and emergency vehicles to showcase the beauty of the area without the hazard presented by motorists.
