I've never felt part of the mainstream. Never. Not at the peak of Marvel's popularity. Not with anime's increased cultural cache. Not at peak video games. I don't think anything could make me feel so. But nothing quite me feel as disconnected... as the kinds of mobile games that I see advertised

I probably shouldn't cast too many stones as a certifiable Foreveralone but It seems to me like there are people who have a lot of completely arbitrary red flags when it comes to dating Like, worse than superstition. At least superstitions, you can kinda see the (fuzzy, flawed) logic.

My new favorite Arino/child interaction on any episode of GameCenter CX

GameCenter CX, Mega Man X (Part 1). Arino is in a toy store and meets the owner, whose granddaughter is there with. She just handed him a question mark block plush while the Grandfather says "She's a fan of yours, it seems."

"Is that so?" Arino says while looking down at her

She looks back at him and says "I love you."

Something I realized after watching FX Fighter Kurumi: I don't mind a character being doomed as long as that doom is a result of their character flaws and not a series of narrative calls chosen to torture them for the sake of the story

There was a sequence in Fire Emblem that featured a first perspective of a training dummy receiving a beatdown from an Amazonian warrior queen And I thinks to meself; “this is someone’s fetish”

I wonder if there's any job that gets the appropriate amount of appreciation It'd probably be easier if the brain didn't focus so vividly on shitty people. All it takes is one shithead to blow away the impression left by 50 normally cordially folks.

maybe i'm wrong here but i feel that there is more consistency in what is considered a good movie, or a good book, or even a good song than there is with what is considered a good game

i think akasaka aka just isn't cut out to tell capital N narratives His character stuff and comedy bits are great, but the way that the actual story of oshi no ko played out... to say nothing of that new fairy tale comic of his...

My personal interest in this game is at a solid negative, but can you actually dress Deborah Ann Woll from Daredevil like Amethyst, Princess of Gem World, from DC Comics like that first picture suggests? Because that'd move the needle a little

Gundam 00 is a show that asks questions such as "How much can you distance yourself from your humanity in pursuit of an ideal before losing yourself?", "Can you truly make peace with someone who doesn't see his fellow humans as people?" and "Can a white boy walk the path of the bushido blade?"

The ultimate irony of life is that we are born only to die I feel like the ultimate irony of humanity is that were are capable of incredible, world-reshaping things collectively, yet the more people you get together, the more managing them becomes an exercise in futility and/or insanity and/or evil

I'm dating myself with this comment but I really don't get Witchblade man In terms of character design. She looks like she's covered in scabs or crust or something. Maybe it's my exposure to less terrible looking Japanese cartoon scantily clad armor babes that makes it seem bad...?

Dunno why--maybe I resent her for the way she treated Rogue and Nightcrawler, two characters I really like--but my personal impression of Mystique is like the midway point between Daria and Sabretooth. She's constantly bemused and usually the slightest push away from trying to murder somebody.

It risks retreading Ryuki and Saber, but i think a knight themed Kamen Rider would be neat Like in the sense that the Riders would be proxies in a battle between larger authorities. That'd be the main thing I want out of it. Like, imagine Gaim if there was 3-4 competing Yggdrasils.
