From a 2001 edition of Newtype's 100% Collection: Turn A Gundam in striking art nouveau. They clash, uncompromising... Series character designer Akira Yasuda was a Capcom veteran, handling both planning and character designs for many of their arcade hits of the 80s and 90s.

A screencap of two pages from a scan of the issue on IA (Mittlemeyer) wit very striking illustration of characters from the show (Loran Cehack, Dianna Soreil, and Gym Ghingnham) back to back, Gundams towering overhead and mimicing their stance.

então, eu já ouvi falar muito bem das outras séries dele e gosto daquele filme Hush que ele dirigiu, mas acho que por ser especificamente CARRIE fica meio difícil não comparar com o que já teve agora eu devia muito ver Missa da Meia-Noite

I'm happy to publicly come forth as the JP-to-EN translator of My Journey to Her by Yūna Hirasawa. It's a great honor to be the first openly transgender & nonbinary native Japanese translator to be credited for the translation of an Eisner Award-winning manga. 😊 Please see my full statement below.

A statement from Mishima Kitan. Due to the word count restriction of the ALT text field, the ALT text is split into two parts. The second part is in the subsequent image in the thread of this post.

Statement Part 1:
"Hi, everyone. This is Mishima Kitan. Today, I'm happy to publicly come forth as the Japanese-to-English translator of My Journey to Her, an autobiographical transgender memoir, by Yūna Hirasawa. My Journey to Her won the Eisner Award for the category of Best Digital Comic in 2025. I'm very glad that this significant book has been released physically as well.

I've been using English as my second language for over thirty years now. It's a great honor to be the first openly transgender and nonbinary native Japanese translator to be credited for the translation of an Eisner Award-winning manga.

At the time of the digital release of this book in 2024, I had some personal concerns about being credited so I requested to be anonymous in the initially released edition. In March 2026, Haruko Hashimoto (the editor of the digital edition) had reached out to inform me that the book was getting a physical release and to ask if I'd like to be credited as the translator. Upon consideration, I replied, "Yes." I felt ready to be credited as the translator and I also felt that this present moment was a historically important timing to confirm the credit.

Having my own fair share of transphobic experiences and having to entirely cutting ties with my blood family in Japan at age 20 to live and transition on my own, this memoir was one of the most emotionally challenging book to translate. But, as with any work that I do, I gave my best effort."

one thing that jumps out to me as a native spanish speaker is when people on here post in extremely forced spanglish that is clearly just pasted from google translate. another thing that jumps out at me is spring-heeled jack, a cryptid who terrorized 1800s london with his ability to move upwards

não tem exatamente a ver com o Tom Cruise em si, mas não consigo ignorar o jeito bizarro que tratam ele como Sr. Cinema e isso começou a me irritar ultimamente mas isso é só um detalhe porque tem OUTRAS COISAS né

ele só vira mulher por alguns minutos por vez pela maior parte do filme, então não entrega tudo que eu esperava, mas ela é muito boa então tudo bem fica meio implícito que o doutor é o Jack o Estripador também lol

rafaela @ondororu.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
