Another #wip I am excited to finally get back to work on I started this with the intention of selling it, but it has lived with me for over three years, and I know I'll never be able to part with it now. That's my emotional support painting

I was diagnosed with AS two years ago. I started on Plaquenil. I had a bad reaction to it, so I was switched to methotrexate. My liver protested after a few months, so I started Cosentyx instead. Cosentyx gave me a GI bleed, so insurance approved Humira. Four months later, drug-induced psoriasis.

I'm finding it hard to feel anything except heat-sick and depressed by all of the things today. So in case anyone else needs it too... This is a reminder that good things can emerge out of chaos and mess. 🌿🌳
A test sheet for a drawing where almost all the species are connected through willow trees. Because its a test sheet it looks like absolute carnage. There's a central cluster of plants, lichen, fungi, and a hawk moth, but a lot of the page is covered in colour swatches of pencil and watercolour. None of the individual components are finished. There's scrawly notes everywhere. Mayhem I tell you.The finished drawing that test sheet was for. It's very tidy and shows a bouquet-like arrangement of parasitic toothwort, woodland fern fronds, pussy willow catkins, grey amanitas, coral fungi, specklebelly lichens, willow falls, and a single snakehead fritillary. There's an eyed hawkmoth perched on the pussy willow. All the species here except the fritillary have a biological connection to willow. The fritillary connects to the commissioner and my previous work for them. I love this piece. You wouldn't know from the shit I wrote on the test sheet though, lol.

For #WorldLizardDay, a Blue-spotted Spiny Lizard (Sceloporus cyanostictus) basks on a petroglyph near Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. This male's full breeding colors are on display. #herps #lizards #NaturePhotography 🌿
Angled-down image of a spiny lizard perched on a rock face, head up and facing right. The lizard's ground color is a brilliant turquoise blue from head to toe, interspersed with darker blue bands spots. There is a black collar on the neck, sandwiched in between two white collars. The rock face is an orangish brown, and there are lines and circle markings incised in the surface, using some percussive technique.

Zebra longwing (𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢) ✨the only established native longwing in the so-called US (common in the southeast, and parts of the gulf coast). Loves subtropical and tropical climates, like most longwings. #natureillustration #sciart #butterfly
A specimen illustration of a zebra haliconian, shown in both pencil (below) and fully rendered (above). The rendered butterfly has black wings and body with very light yellow striped markings across the forewings and upper hind wings, as well as rows of pale spots along the middle and outer edge of the hind wings. A few small color swatches appear in the bottom right corner, and the text “ZEBRA HALICONIAN” is lettered in the bottom center.

There are some thick grasses in the foreground and some dying bluebells just visible.A tree that is growing diagonally and is shedding some long pieces of bark sits above some dying bluebells. Lots of trees around with new green leaves.A very early photo on a slightly foggy morning. Dark green leaves on the trees above a carpet of blue bluebells (they look more blue out of the sun). A #painting for you from the southwest of Ireland now. "Youghal, Main Street" came out of a visit to the east Cork town where I got to enjoy nice food, nice beer, and nice rain, before cycling in the sun on a perfect green sky day. #Art #SpéirGhorm #ArtYear
Landscape format in acrylics on canvas. Under a bright lime sky we have a view from a junction down a main retail street of bold shadows straight ahead to the clock tower arch gate at the end, and to the left in the foreground is another street. With bright sunlight coming from the right the buildings on the right are in shadow, mostly pale blue upper stories and dark blue shop fronts, with dark blue shadow stretching across half of turquoise road. A pattern of shadows is also on side street to left. Double yellow lines are on roads. Closest building on the right along the right edge of the painting is pale pink and blue. Buildings on the left are in the sun so are bright most notably the yellow 3-story corner building nearest the viewer. It has red corner blocks, red Kodak signs, and dark windows with shadows under window sills. The building next door to it is red with a red canopy, then further down the street the buildings are pale pinks and blues. Black bollards are on the pale turquoise footpath. Signed bottom right in dark blue, Liam Daly
