I'm getting 4-5mo on each med, I'm going to scream. It sounds like Skyrizi or similar will be my next option, since it can treat the AS, IBD, and psoriasis at the same time. Hopefully it won't uncover another issue; my records now refer to me as someone diagnosed with "problem list"

Oof I'm sorry to hear that. They believe my herniated l5-s1 is compressing a nerve and causing problems with my left hip and leg. Surgery was considered for me when the herniated was discovered 14 years ago, but they opted to put it off due to my age. Now I'm older and surgery is back on the table.

I will have to change my medication AGAIN and I am SO TIRED. I just want a treatment that works for longer than a few months without causing some other problem.

I was diagnosed with AS two years ago. I started on Plaquenil. I had a bad reaction to it, so I was switched to methotrexate. My liver protested after a few months, so I started Cosentyx instead. Cosentyx gave me a GI bleed, so insurance approved Humira. Four months later, drug-induced psoriasis.

I'm finding it hard to feel anything except heat-sick and depressed by all of the things today. So in case anyone else needs it too... This is a reminder that good things can emerge out of chaos and mess. 🌿🌳

A test sheet for a drawing where almost all the species are connected through willow trees. Because its a test sheet it looks like absolute carnage. There's a central cluster of plants, lichen, fungi, and a hawk moth, but a lot of the page is covered in colour swatches of pencil and watercolour. None of the individual components are finished. There's scrawly notes everywhere. Mayhem I tell you.

The finished drawing that test sheet was for. It's very tidy and shows a bouquet-like arrangement of parasitic toothwort, woodland fern fronds, pussy willow catkins, grey amanitas, coral fungi, specklebelly lichens, willow falls, and a single snakehead fritillary. There's an eyed hawkmoth perched on the pussy willow. All the species here except the fritillary have a biological connection to willow. The fritillary connects to the commissioner and my previous work for them. I love this piece. You wouldn't know from the shit I wrote on the test sheet though, lol.

I'm also a fan of failing meds, apparently. I was allergic to plaquenil (which wasn't working anyway), methotrexate took my liver out in the first three months, and cosentyx revealed that my "gastroparesis" is actually IBD and I ended up in the hospital lmfao If I fail Humira, I hope it's gentle
