I get the impression that some people aren't clear what this means. True. This is reality now, under a government that is pandering to the extremist views of a very vocal (and rich) minority. Bodily autonomy, equity for all humans regardless of religion, skin colour, gender expression or sensuality, disability etc is not extremist. It's basic humanity.

Books saved my life more than once as A Weird Teenager With No Friends by giving me worlds o could escape into when I didn'twant to live in this one. Sadly, my two favourite series (The Mists of Avalon and The Belgariad/Mallorean) were written by people who were pretty awful.

Fell off t'internet for a while. Well, stopped posting. Minor health scare, the winter sads, the state of the world *gestures forlornly*. Feeling very small and insignificant. But Spring is Springing, and (for a change) the sun is out so not feeling quite as lost, today.

Autism and ADHD diagnoses are hard enough to access anyway, often taking years, and then support after is generally non-existent for autistic folk who are considered able to function with minimal support and medication for ADHD is often the only support ADHDers are offered.

This. I'm Gen X, and yes, I had a feral childhood. As an undiagnosed AuDHD-but-very-academic child with a very complicated relationshipwith my mother, I was an outcast, so I have significant amounts of trauma. Yet I still felt like I had a future. Today's teens don't feel that.

This evening, Grublin 2 and I have made gluten-free cinnamon buns that actually worked and tasted pretty damn good! G2 is turning into a pretty confident baker. First time working with psyllium husk powder. Essential for a proper dough, but oh boy is it absolutely revolting to start with!

A tin of gluten free cinnamon buns with a cream cheese glaze sat on top of a cooker hob. Three of the buns have been removed and devoured!
