#LightAndShadow Downtown Houston's canyon of towering, textured behemoths changes colours in cool, cloudy light. The Beauty of #Skyscrapers, Exhibit No. 39. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekLforLookingIn #TextureTuesday #Architecture #UrbanGaze #StreetPhotography #Photography #ECK #Abstractia #Stunday
A low-angle, vertical colour photo captures a dramatic, canyon-like view of downtown Houston’s skyscrapers, emphasizing their contrasting architectural styles and the play of late afternoon light. Towering on the left, the Wells Fargo Plaza showcases a faceted, deep-amber glass facade that brilliantly reflects the warm, golden sun, while adjacent to it rises the sleek, cylindrical form of the Heritage Plaza (frequently recognized for its Mayan-inspired crown, though here emphasizing its smooth, green-tinted glass curtain wall). An enclosed pedestrian skybridge spans the street below, cutting a dark, diagonal, sharp geometric line across the lower third of the frame. The dramatic upward perspective forces the eye toward a moody, overcast sky, while the mirrored surfaces of the surrounding glass-and-steel monoliths create complex, layered reflections of light and shadow, casting a striking glow across the entire scene.

I will delete an apostrophe before I delete the oxford comma. The comma is also part of having the classic southern accent, and why we are the masters of small talk or chit chat.
Samuel Clemens quote "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness" Very true and also contains oxford commas.

A chunk of pegmatic rock; main features are the smoky quartz chunks in the middle, next to that you can see large tourmaline rods and also plenty of feldspar, calcite, and other interesting things; roughly 1.6 billion years old.Close up of the possible tourmaline or biotite books maybe both ifnCracked open pegmatite

SPPOOOSSSHHH... PHHHFFFFFFF... SSSSSSHHHHHHHH... To paraphrase Bob Ross, you have to make the noises when looking at #paleoart, otherwise it doesn't work. 2018 illustration of giant Triassic ichthyosaurs Shonisaurus, surfacing in waters that once covered Nevada. #art #fossil #paleontology #sciart
Three giant ichthyosaurs emerge from the water in front of a hazy, cloudy sky. The left animal has the arms of a large squid emerging from its mouth, and the right has surfaced far enough to show its front left flopper. The central animal looms above us, eclipsing the sun with its enormous snout. Two pterosaurs fly past the closest specimen, dwarfed by the emergent swimmer like pigeons circling a cathedral spire.

The #Salt of the Earth The Zagros Mountains are a range that stretches from eastern Turkey to southeastern Iran. The weight of the overlying rock layers and the pressure of the salt itself cause the salt to rise. Plate tectonics also play a role in this active area. Vote #Halite
