Good news! Possible coral bleaching recovery through symbiont transfer from healthy (and same genet) corals. Yes, we still need to prevent mass bleaching events (and we seem to be going backwards 🤬) but this brings some hope that reefs can be revived 🧪

Rapid coral bleaching recovery via symbiont transfer from healthy corals
Coral bleaching, the temperature-induced loss of dinoflagellate symbionts, is a major driver of global coral reef decline. Although corals can regain symbionts through repopulation of residual symbion...

It’s 2026, all I have ever wanted in a car is a driver seat that can flip up exposing the toilet that I can use while driving and then upon flushing, it shoots the contents out the back to spray on the windshield those following too close.

Fun fact: fish don't produce blue pigment. The coloration comes from guanine crystals that selectively reflect blue light only. #fish #aquarium #science #animals #aquascape

At the VEXAG 2026 meeting in Boulder just now, we've learned that NASA's VERITAS mission has been scheduled for a November 2032 launch. Folks, this is CRAZY good news. Earlier this year we were concerned that NASA would *cancel* VERITAS!
