Watched an excellent couple of games of Spades played yesterday, and it got me thinking about how card strategy works in KFK; and as a result, I ended up undoing a rule that limits those strategies (in an effort to create certain kinds of action in gameplay). Gonna test some of that tonight at BMG!

Completely concur with Quinn here. FAE works in beautiful and not-so-mysterious ways, and while the the design trends have shifted a lot, this is still a top-tier system that will teach you a lot about how the mechanisms of speaking about your die rolls works.

I went to my first Baltimore Orioles game on Wednesday. That has been a long time coming, since I've considered myself a permanent fan of them since I got my first baseball card. And as soon as we sat down they proceeded to score 8 runs in an inning. So.... That was awesome!

✂️🎲 A 🧵 A friend sent me this video that was talking about how the back of a game box is essential for stores to market and sell the game, given that they can’t have every game set up nor do they have demo copies of all games available. youtube.com/shorts/-hQBk...

A great back of the box layout is the best tool to help retailers sell your game.

Once when I was young and doing summer reading challenges, one of the books assigned was “Letters” by an author named Lewis. At the age of maybe 10, I tried to read CS Lewis’ letters…. Boy howdy. Bless my little heart. (The recommended read was *not* C.S. Lewis’ letters, but an actual kids book)

I tried proton, which ultimately felt like more compromises than benefits. Big security vs usability tradeoffs IMO. Nothing is as open and as integrated as gmail. I ended up with iCloud which is not bad. And while services are geared towards macs, it’s more x-platform than is obvious.
