Canada remains the largest U.S. auto export market—larger than the next 10 combined—with over $100 billion in annual trade. Trump's 25% tariff on Canadian cars sparked Canadian counter-tariffs on U.S. autos, steel and aluminum and are now backfiring on American automakers.

The two #Equinox are the only days when the Sun rises due East and sets due West, everywhere. At the Dec solstice the sun rises in the S-East. At the June solstice it rises in the N-East. As the days pass between the two, the sunrise position slowly changes passing due East each equinox.🤩 🔭🧪

In 1995-2013 uranium from 20,000 Soviet warheads supplied 10% of US power. Today, Russia remains America's #1 supplier of nuclear fuel. For @foreignpolicy.com I explore why a 2024 import ban on Russian uranium is theatre and how Moscow makes the most of its leverage foreignpolicy.com/2026/09/21/u...

The reactions to Canada's euro-rapprochement have been wildly exaggerated. Haters warned against surrendering 🇨🇦's sovereignty to a crumbling Eurocracy and dreamers dreamt of visa free work opportunities. So far, it's a "not much burger": lot's of talk of collaboration but very little substance.

It's a cycle, not a trend. I see no support for the narrative that the far-right is "on the march" in Europe. The evidence suggests that when establishment parties (left or right) fail on the economy/energy, voters tend to punish them. This happened to UK Tories as much as it will happen to Macron.

There is no world where Canada and the US are not each others largest trading partners and most important security partners. Facts are facts: you can't swap out the US for Europe or China as a main trading partner because of economic reality and will always be our most important defensive partner.

Al Qaeda attacked the US on 9/11 to provoke what it called a “bleeding war” in Afghanistan. Bin Laden’s goal was to recreate the quagmire that bled dry the Soviet Union in the 1980s. George Bush not only foolishly took the bait, he gave him a bonus – a bleeding war in Iraq.
