According to the NYPD, the Mamdani admin has approved sending the SRG to protests, despite having the authority to block it. If true, this is alarming. The mayor must keep his pledge to disband the SRG + the City Council must pass the CURB Act to prevent other units from implementing these tactics.

The NYPD failed to document nearly *10,000* stops just in 2025. This is a blatant disregard for NYers’ constitutional rights. Thirteen years after stop-and-frisk was ruled unconstitutional, there is simply no excuse for police to continue to evade accountability and oversight by misreporting stops.

While Mayor Mamdani has stressed that he remains committed to disbanding the SRG, the unit continues to operate and was fully funded in the most recent budget. This is unacceptable. The Mayor must prioritize disbanding the unit before they abuse more New Yorkers.

This is appalling. We need to strengthen protections for LGBTQ+ students -- not weaken them. Remember: In New York, LGBTQ+ students are still protected against discrimination in schools by state laws that go beyond Title IX’s and the federal Constitution’s protections.

Last September, 60 armed and masked federal agents descended on a factory in Cato, NY. They grabbed 100+ workers, including some U.S. citizens and green card holders, some of whom were deported without due process.⁠ ⁠ We're suing Trump's DHS for this unjustified raid that violated worker's rights.

This is great news. New Yorkers are fighting back against Flock's creepy cameras - and winning. Automatic license plate readers like Flock are invasive, prone to error, and the data they collect is frequently abused by the police and government agencies. Mass surveillance doesn't keep us safe.

While Mayor Mamdani's policy restricting AI in schools is a good first step, there are broad exceptions that still leave students at risk.⁠ ⁠ Mamdani's DOE must do more to establish AI oversight in schools that is fully responsible, robust, and protective. Our city's students deserve nothing less.

The vast difference in students’ experiences is a result of a patchwork approach to sex ed in New York, where what young people learn depends almost entirely on where they live. NY does not require schools to teach comprehensive sex ed, and some students do not receive sex ed at all.

1/ No one should die at the hands of corrections officers. This is a step towards accountability for Robert L. Brooks Sr.‘s family, but it doesn’t erase the pain of his + countless other families whose loved ones have been killed in custody. Mr. Brooks’s fatal beating was not an isolated incident.
