In New Bedford and Fall River, ICE has ripped apart families, disrupted schools and businesses, and deliberately created a climate of fear. It’s reckless and it does nothing to keep our communities safe. We will continue to protect immigrant rights and hold ICE to account.

ICE is purposefully trying to make it harder for lawyers and loved ones to contact people held in detention, making it nearly impossible for some people to challenge their removals. ICE must let the outside world know where they are detaining people.

ACLU privacy expert Chad Marlow is on Capitol Hill today testifying on the dangers of Flock’s nationwide surveillance network, which is unnecessary, ineffective, and downright creepy. Flock and other automatic license plate reader companies trade our privacy for profits — Congress must ban them.

The Supreme Court’s decision means that all 50 states can continue to use their existing processes for mail voting, which have proven for decades to be safe, secure, and reliable. Every eligible voter has the right to exercise their constitutionally protected right to vote. Period.

NEW: A federal appeals court allowed our case defending incarcerated people's right to access medication for opioid use disorder to proceed to trial. Our client was inhumanely shackled before, during, and after childbirth and forced off medication after giving birth, sending her into withdrawals.

President Trump fabricated an emergency to undermine our voting rights. The district court issued an order to block the USPS from enforcing its unlawful rule for the November elections and we'll keep fighting to protect every eligible voter's right to participate in the upcoming election.

NEW: The Trump administration asked SCOTUS to intervene so that the new USPS rule limiting mail-in voting can go into effect after we got a district court to block it. With under 60 days until November's election, there's no way this wouldn't disenfranchise voters who rely on mail ballots.
