Just make it exist first, you can make it good later.

Very first thumbnail sketch for the painting from 2021. Very loose drawing of 4 pokemon themed monster hunters fighting a monster hunter styled charizard.

Very detailed painting of 4 pokemon themed monster hunters fighting a monster hunter styled charizard. It only took a solid year of time to paint this after a 4 year break from starting the thumbnail. Putting a lot of emphasis on the "later" in "make it good later"

Since we’re talking Nic Cage knowing ball on here now I have to bring over the interview clipping I posted on Twitter forever ago from the September 1996 issue of Playboy where he talks about Urotsukidoji

I'd like to start a music company and a comic-book company.
PLAYBOY: What types of comic books do you read?
CAGE: All sorts. There's one I like called Hard Boiled by Frank Miller and Geof Darrow. It's very intense with highly detailed drawings. I also like some of the erotic comics. There's a lot to be said for these Japanese cartoons of girls doing sexy things.
PLAYBOY: What are the best sex comics?
CAGE: Legend of the Overfiend is a great one. It's operatic. It's not something you'd want your kids to look at, but it's wonderful.
PLAYBOY: For a fan of comic books, it's surprising that you haven't done more thrillers or science fiction movies.
CAGE: Yeah. I would do them if they were offered to me. I want to be able to make every kind of movie, whatever comes along that keeps it interesting.

I'm not really a Street Fighter player but I think it's taught me a lot about myself, about who I am & the jagged shape of my soul. I'm not interested in the delicate negotiation of neutral, I'm not here to step lightly, or speak quietly. Today I've drawn my Street Fighter pick: Third Strike Makoto.

An addendum to anyone needing to use PPSSPP but wants to avoid AI commits, it seems like the current stable build 1.20.4 from May 16 *should* be safe. Public commits with Claude as an author started July 24 this year.

Wow, holy crap. The current state of PPSSPP might be the perfect example of going off the deep end with AI slop in software dev. What I'm showing in these screenshots goes on for dozens and dozens of pages. This emulator is straight up exclusively developed by Claude now.

My issue with a lot of "old game good vs new game bad" discourse is that it usually ends with ppl talking about how ppl have always complained about new games, "they called mvc2 a baby game too!" Etc etc, which yes true, but it also plays ignorant with the obvious design trends of the modern fighter

I still wonder how all those vibe coders are unit testing their scenarios. Are they just letting the AI do it for them? Do they debug through the unit tests and see what their actual variables are and how they're transformed to insure that its the intention they need? Something tells me no.

Fun fact: During pre-production on G Gundam, Yasuhiro Imagawa traveled to Hong Kong for research purposes. While there, he purchased a coin sword, which he enthusiastically brandished in the office. Memorably, a similar sword makes an appearance in the Giant Robo finale.
