Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 28/09/2026Both? Lol. When I heard the jets I got my camera and binoculars out. I was looking outside often thinking the jets might escort AF1. I happened to be at my window when I saw a big plane, recognized the livery through my binoculars, the grabbed my camera and fired off a few shots. 030
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 28/09/2026I caught probably a one-in-a-million shot of Air Force 1 leaving Chicago yesterday. 7865
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 28/09/2026TFR was for the President visiting Medinah for the golf torment. A 30NM radius is pretty standard for presidential visits. Wires got ccrossed and TFR expired, then 15-20 minute later it was extended. Presumably some aircraft went up after the original expiration 050
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 28/09/2026I don't have timestamps, but I saw the TFR drop off my drone flight mapping app at some point that seemed early. Considering he didn't leave Medinah until ~6:40, and the original TFR was scheduled to go to 4:40pm, it seems like something got miscommunicated 090
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 27/09/2026Now that college football and the NFL are back in full swing and the MLB & WNBA playoffs are starting (among other sports about to start play) I feel like sports vague-posts should be required to have a team and/or sport alt text attributed to them. 080
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 26/09/2026I wasn't arguing those. The posters I was replying to mentioned their relative heights and where the plane intersected their heads. A lower camera angle would explain that. One said Xi was taller in the first pic, but to me that' doesn't appear to be the case. 000
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 25/09/2026I don’t say it wasn’t edited. I was pointing out that a different source photo (of which edits were appplied), taken from a slightly lower angle would easily account for a change the perspective where the heads would intersect the jet at different heights. 110
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 24/09/2026Quite likely another photographer was crouching right under the other photographer. I don't deny there are edits, but I think the base photo of the edited image is different than the 'original' photo. 3220

Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 22/09/2026Heads up! tune Iinto @wgntv.com at 4 & 5pm tonight to watch and hear me talk about Chicagohenge. 0214
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 22/09/2026Around 6:00pm (~45 minutes before sunset) the HRDPS model shows clear-ish skies over Chicago. HOWEVER, to catch #Chicagohenge, we need to be concerned with the clouds ~130 miles away. Depending on altitude, coverage, and cloud type, clouds west of the line can block the sun as it nears the horizon 070
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 22/09/2026If you want to learn more about the biannual sun/skyscraper alignment I have a (now old) blog post that details the phenomena and gives you some tips for shooting it www.nickulivieriphotography.com/blog/chicago...nickulivieriphotography.comChicagohenge - an equinox sunset. - Nick Ulivieri PhotographyPhotographing Chicagohenge with Nick Ulivieri. Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 22/09/2026Happy #Chicagohenge, everyone! Astronomical fall officially arrives at 7:05pm CDT today. Happy shooting if you're out chasing the sun between Chicago's concrete (and steel and glass) canyons. The forecast is iffy this afternoon, but worth a shot. 415143
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 22/09/2026In Spring it’s the opposite. Chicagohenge can start a day or so before the equinox 150
Nick Ulivieri @nuphoto.com · 22/09/2026If it’s cloudy, the sun *should* still make an appearance near the horizon as it passes between the ‘concrete canyon’ on Wednesday and maybe Thursday. Weather permitting. Gotta check my math, but because Chicago’s E/W streets are about 1.1° south of due West you get an extra day (or so) of henge. 192
