Imagine risking your life to save someone at sea only to be called a traitor and “scum” when you get back to shore. That’s what happened to RNLI rescuers in Portsmouth on Sunday. These volunteers put their lives on the line to save people, whoever they are. They deserve our thanks, not abuse.

This is so outrageous. The Government wants to reclassify Coastguard Rescue Officers as "volunteers" so they can get out of paying them an hourly wage when they go out to save lives. Join me and sign the petition to demand the Government scrap plans to strip rescue heroes of their pay:
