Just finished reading #BeingMortal by #AtulGawande Such a thought-provoking book for me in my 60s with elderly family. Worth a read at any age! Also listened to his @therestpolitics.bsky.social Leading interview. Good to know that there are such excellent thinkers/doctors/communicators in the world.

Despite it being a balmy 19/20 in my part of Scotland today I agree with the concerns raised. I once heard experts talk of local nuclear energy hubs as potential to tackle fuel poverty, reduce our carbon dependency and address climate emissions but not a word since… why? #Climatechange #AntiPoverty

Glad to see EU/UK/Gibraltar/Spain deal agreed yesterday, thanks to a #UKgovernment prepared to negotiate the right thing for British people in #Gibraltar who overwhelmingly voted #Remain. These people were following the law and went to check in with immigration like they are supposed to. This woman's immigration case was dismissed, which made her immediately undocumented. So ICE took her into custody. The air conditioning was off in the back of the truck. "I can't breathe."

I never drink coffee at home as the smell gives the OH the boak. In a hotel with a #nespresso machine, no instructions. Google doesn’t help. This is worrying.I have 3 elderly family members in Scottish care homes (various stages of dementia/alzheimers) & many of their carers are from overseas, providing great care & attention. Great. So that's it. Get America out of these so called negotiations. They have only self interest at heart. They want to save face for Tr*mp, pillage Ukraine's minerals and resume trade with Putin. Europe now needs to take the lead role in any peace negotiations, with Ukraine's full participation.
