After a pickup drove by me recently as I biked along Blake Street, as I was trying to avoid the stench of exhaust, I thought someday we'll look back and realize it was nuts that we let these things spew fumes next to every one for decades.

Can the president use taxpayer funds to air his old campaign ads on TV?

No. Federal appropriations law has long barred using taxpayer funds for political advertising.

This is hilarious. It’s not just that Sen. Schmitt gets the team names wrong; he confuses a women’s college basketball game between the Maryland Terrapins and the Iowa Hawkeyes, in Maryland, for a men’s NBA game between the Golden State Warriors and the Atlanta Hawks, in Atlanta. Hawkeyes != Hawks.

"In London, cycling is essentially a peak-time, Lycra-wearing monoculture." I don't know Sir Lampl, I saw a lot of different riders in London's lanes. Maybe what you briefly see out of a cab window isn't all that accurate. Go ride a bike.

I rode the painted bike lane on Larimer St today and every time I do that I'm reminded how decision makers do not understand how it is such a disaster waiting to happen riding between car doors ready to open and drivers on the other side. There is no way they ride in these.

I was kinda hoping we'd have made it easier to ride a bike around on occasion by now. With all the studies, experts, data, and precedent would be cool if we listened decades ago & built our cities to be a bit more resilient I guess a bunch of folks got to drive F-150s on every inch of pavement 🤷‍♂️

The social and intraprofessional consequences of saying this in the year 2026 — in Colorado of all places — should be akin to claiming you've met Satan or have visited the Hollow Earth. But no one has a more secure assigned seat in the discourse than the conservative Trump critic.

So glad to see
@EPA
 undoing the ridiculous and expensive CO2 limits on power plants. Frustrating to see
@nytimes
 and
@apnews
 talk about "climate pollution" as if that's a real thing. NOBODY should believe the fiction around the "studies" that claim that some particular limit on CO2, also known as plant foot, will save some number of lives.

I've been very negative about Trump lately but he's right to reiterate that "climate change" is basically a hoax. I don't mean the climate doesn't change; of course it does. I mean that 1) we shouldn't assume climate change must be harmful, and 2) we shouldn't assume that the costs of "doing something" now are less, or even only slightly more, than the costs of adapting later should it be necessary. The latter is MUCH smarter policy.

A kid was hit by a driver doing 39 over and dipshits like this still comment about the clothing they may or may not have been wearing
"As sad as this is, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Heck have had close calls with kids on scooters in broad daylight! And those sCooters are FAST. About five times faster than a pedestrian would guess. At almost 2:00 in the morning, that would have been really hard to see especially if the teen was wearing dark clothing. None of those scooters have lights on them either. "

Paris is a city that's been WINNING the WAR ON WALKING. In the past decade city leaders built 300+ School Streets, launched a 15-minute city and reclaimed their downtown waterfront. It's a place people can enjoy an evening outside on what used to be a car freeway. This is what every city deserves.
