I dislike Jon Caldera. He's a blow hard, he dumped shit on City Hall (literally), he was an RTD Director who hates transit, he's intelligent enough to know better but chooses not to. The "if we tax the rich they won't make us cool stuff" take is truly stupid www.denvergazette.com/2026/10/11/e...

Wow. Steph Vigil, a Democratic candidate for the the legislature in Colorado, called out the publication interviewing her for a lack of disclosure in a candidate Q-and-A: www.coloradopolitics.com/2026/10/05/f... The outlet obviously should be disclosing, but that's one way to get it in the outlet 🤣

This is nuts. @murray.senate.gov: “Tying funding for transit projects to marriage rates and how many babies a woman has is the sort of bizarre and dystopian idea you’d expect in a TV show, not actual policy put forth by the U.S. government — yet here we are."

Lastly it was amazing how much quieter & calmer this literal highway is now. I didn't mind sitting on the platform or walking along the street. People were still crossing mid block on occasion and cyclists used the lanes when the bus wasn't there. Such a massive difference to once awful experience.

I love riding my bike places but damn if a 5 minute frequency bus isn't freaking awesome. I'll be hitting up the corridor more. Plus, no one wants to lock their bike up on Colfax for any real duration 😆

Last night I rode the new Colfax BRT a bunch while taking photos for @bikewalkbus.bsky.social. I waited on a well lit station, grabbed frequent buses, checked out a new restaurant, rode the bus back home, hopped off early, walked 16th Street, rode a scooter home. It felt like living in a real city.

Republicans mask things like "I want to make more money so others must get taken advantage of, I just got here first" with "pulling themselves up by their bootstraps". Also, absolute dogshit take without the context of one group leaning into fascism. That's not a middle ground kind of situation.

After a pickup drove by me recently as I biked along Blake Street, as I was trying to avoid the stench of exhaust, I thought someday we'll look back and realize it was nuts that we let these things spew fumes next to every one for decades.

No. Federal appropriations law has long barred using taxpayer funds for political advertising.

This is hilarious. It’s not just that Sen. Schmitt gets the team names wrong; he confuses a women’s college basketball game between the Maryland Terrapins and the Iowa Hawkeyes, in Maryland, for a men’s NBA game between the Golden State Warriors and the Atlanta Hawks, in Atlanta. Hawkeyes != Hawks.

I use avocado oil because it's a neutral oil with a crazy high smoke point, not because I'm worried about a vinaigrette. The seed oil folks are Loony Tunes and tallow is way more expensive, so good job increasing the price for no benefit.

"In London, cycling is essentially a peak-time, Lycra-wearing monoculture." I don't know Sir Lampl, I saw a lot of different riders in London's lanes. Maybe what you briefly see out of a cab window isn't all that accurate. Go ride a bike.
