Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

What book has the harshest genre change mid-book that you can think of? Not a prologue and then into the "real" story, but a book that full commits to one genre, lets you settle into it, and then wham... you're not in Kansas anymore. #BookSky #AuthorSky

I've been reading The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro for almost 2 weeks now and I'm really finding it a slog. I've loved other books by him and usually like weirdness/surrealism but I'm struggling. Do I abandon it for now and try again another year? Or keep going as I'm 160 pages in? 📚 #BookSky
