PoD is not the solution you think it is to avoiding steep shipping costs for backers. When you ship anything anywhere you're putting your book into god's hands. This includes domestic mail. With PoD you're also ensuring that you can't control the quality of the finished book as well.

Sir, Purists may debate the best way of making tea (letters, Jul 23 & 24) but in the army needs must. In the Arctic, where snow had first to be melted in mess tins, we boiled the water to heat tins of food, then used it for washing and shaving, and only after all that could we add a tea bag, condensed milk and sugar to produce a nourishing brew. At -25C I never heard anyone complain.
