ANTHOLOGY OF THE WOODS #Q #MR A cozy tale of folklore with fangs, fitting nicely on a shelf next to "The Once and Future Witches" & "Garden Spells". ✔️Cottage Core ✔️Twist Ending ✔️Sisterhood ✔️Morally Gray FMC ✔️Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll ✔️Atmospheric ✔️Feminism ✔️Dancing ghosts in a theater 👻 #QuestPit
A album cover mock up that have three women's silhouettes dancing in a field. It says The West End - Anthology of the Woods and has album stickers on it. The back of an album cover with the title "Anthology of the Woods" followed by 5 songs - White Anemone, Burn Hole, Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, I Only Asked for Help, and The Pearl. Then it has the book's hook: A Nashville rock band believes their luck has turned around when they meet a sisterhood of magical women who seem to turn their voices to honey and their fame to lightning, but unfortunately for them, one of those sisters, Brigid, is on a mission of revenge against man-made magic such as fame and they have just become her last straw.

Gay crimes! Trans wrongs! Enemies to enemies(…?) My #W #YA(?) #LGBT #swashbuckler again for #QuestPit: a colorful, heightened, storybook romp of a #historical. Can one defeat the patriarchs with the very weapons of masculinity? Well, one angry trans boy can sure try stabbing them a lot.
"L'entrée du prince de Ligne à Londres 1660", painted by François Duchatel in 1660, depicting the arrival of a great procession of ambassadors walking in fine clothes and riding in coaches, watched by a huge crowd of Londoners.
Text over it reads:
THE DUEL IN 1660: a queer swashbuckling farce."The arrival of King Charles II of England in Rotterdam, may 24 1660" by Lieve Verschuier, showing many ships with the Flag of Holland/States Flag. The grand ship bearing Charles II has his royal arms carven on the stern.
Text over it reads:
England, 1660: the restoration of the monarchy. In Charles II's triumphant wake, a Royalist family quietly returns, but not with their single daughter—instead, with their single son.
15-year-old Alexander—vain, hot-tempered, and warm of heart—expects to strut in as an aristocratic peacock. But when his ambitions are frustrated, he's sucked instead into intrigues of questionable honour and forced to reckon with what it really means to be a man."Man Writing a Letter" by Gabriël Metsu, painted around 1665. A Dutch young man, beautiful and androgynous with long blond hair, wears black doublet, breeches, and stockings and a luxurious white shirt and falling band. His expression is tranquil and far-off as he writes a letter on a table draped with an imported carpet.
Text over it reads:
Pray enjoy this tempest in a teapot, crafted of the purest tropes and set in the Age of the Rakehells, featuring:
glamour and grime of 17th century Westminster.
goofy action punctuated by primal screams of rage.
problematic characters for miles.
petticoat breeches parkour.
queer mentorship.
romantic friendship (or maybe 'tis just gay, oops).
boys who cry. a lot.
and somehow, everything turning out all right in the end.Detail of "View from the Mussel Pier in Amsterdam", painted by Ludolf Bakhuizen in 1673, showing a peaceful sky over a ship with two gulls.
Text over it reads:
Alexander stood at the edge of the deck, one hand clutching the railing, the other fastened tight on the brim of his hat as he leaned out over the waves. He was not much afraid of falling in, though he had never swum anything choppier than a pond. Rather, he was afraid that his Acadian fur hat, the most expensive for sale in the shop on the Kalverstraat, might fly off his small crown and flap with its feathers all the way to water—which, like the sky, could not quite decide between blue and grey.
There was no one to see him aside from the sailors and now Klein, climbing up from below. Still, he had meticulously dressed that morning, down to every last ribbon. He’d had a very specific vision of himself when the suit was being ordered: the azure he’d picked was not just brighter than everything around him on the fluyt but even the true sky itself, and he sparkled with silver, when the wind tugged his doublet and loose breeches, and gold, when the little light managed to catch on his sword’s hilt.
It was imperative, one must understand, that he look extremely stylish doing battle, should pirates suddenly appear to satisfy his fantasies. And indeed, at fifteen, he thought himself quite the dashing young man—not the boy he was.

Hey #QuestPit! Hankering for an impeccably researched #YA-ish #histfic full of deep intrigue, elegant manners, and witty banter? Cool! Unfortunately, wrong book. THIS book slaps you in the face with a gloveful of physical humor, dumb swashbuckling farce, and chaotic queer drama, 1660s style⚔️ #W
Crude drawing of two foppish men slugging it out in front of a scene of Westminster in chaos. In the background, flames burn and cabbage vendors scream in despair as in the foreground, a duel with rapiers rapidly devolves: a tall, dark-haired man with a mustache and long eyelashes, dressed in purple doublet and petticoat breeches and bright red stockings, elaborately ribboned in red with huge rosettes on his shoes, grins wickedly as a small young man with blond hair, in a blue doublet and petticoat breeches with pink ribbons on his outfit and shoes, bites his opponent's calf and is swung around like a tiny rabid spaniel.

Text says: The Duel in 1660, or, whatever in Hell is happening here.

This image is the first of four to showcase elements for my upcoming book, Whispers of the Sea.

The picture reads: “An Agents Guide to Whispers of the Sea.”

This book will be a young adult fantasy. This is the second image in my guide, and it includes the pitch for my novel.

Such pitch reads to say:

“Whispers of the Sea follows the story of a teenage girl who embarks on a journey to rescue her uncle after he was mysteriously captured by a group of uniformed men sailing under the royal flags of a faraway kingdom.

Maia must voyage across the seas to this mysterious isle where she’ll team up with a local boy to track her uncle’s whereabouts. But in order to understand the dangers that lurk ahead, she’ll be forced to uncover a lifetime worth of secrets—and she must do so before it’s too late.”This is the third image in my guide, and it portrays my comp titles.

My book will be perfect for the fans of the Jasad Heir, A River Enchanted, Curious Tides, and the Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. This is the last image in my guide, and it showcases the aesthetic and a few elements that can be found in the book.

A few of these elements are: found family, secret ploys, outlawed magic, and self discovery.

THE BASS ROCK x THE UNCONSOLED X ALL THE LOVERS IN THE NIGHT Burned-out jazz pianist Clementine falls for a brilliant artist at a seaside inn—then those he paints begin to vanish. 🎹Art‑as‑magic 🌫️ Gothic melancholy 🩶 Envy‑to‑attraction slow burn ❔Psych suspense #agentguide #questpit #A #LF #Q
An agent's guide to the inn at the edge of the sea - 64k upmarket with magical realismThe pitch: Burned‑out jazz pianist Clementine retreats to a seaside inn where a gifted painter rekindles her inspiration. But when the subjects of his portraits begin disappearing, she must learn whether the artist is to blame—or she could be next.
For fans of:
The quiet loneliness and romance of Mieko Kawakami’s ALL THE LOVERS IN THE NIGHT
The brooding, gothic atmosphere of Evie Wyld’s THE BASS ROCK
The dreamy surrealism of Kazuo Ishiguro’s THE UNCONSOLED
Tropes/Themes: Psychological Suspense
Speculative elements
Romance Subplot with Yearning
Magical paintings
Manipulation
Artistic creation and self-destruction
The Indomitable Human Spirit
Music
Moody and melancholic
Opening lines: The winter tide exhaled a slow melody against the sand. Clementine let its crested waves spill over her feet, foam gathering in deep snow drifts around her ankles.

There was a ghostly feel to the long stretch of water that lay before her, the distant horizon blending into a misty gray sky. As the tide pulled back, she was overtaken by the fleeting sensation of falling, as if the water might pull her with it. It had a good rhythm to it. A steady rhythm.

Time dripped slowly. With a distant sort of detachment, she noted that her toes were blue.

Water breathed, and Clementine drew a breath, shallow and cold. The taste of wood and salt lay in a heavy coat atop her tongue. She’d come here for quiet, yet the ocean thrashed and quaked in the cavity of her chest, filling its emptiness with a transparent and insurmountable longing.

It was a Thursday, and Thursdays were the worst night of the week. The night you got if you played well enough to fill the slot, but not popular enough for the weekend rush. Clementine had only ever been scheduled for Thursdays.
