Look, in Ed Sheeran's defence, his entire career up to now has been based on making music for people who don't have political opinions (derogatory).

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing
Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

I've seen the David in Florence and stood before Guernica in Madrid. I caught Zero Mostel's Tevye and James Earl Jones in Fences. I've had the tasting menu at El Cellar, twice. But all of that was mere prelude to seeing Sonny Rollins close out jazzfest in New Orleans. God bless his immortal soul.

The tale of Sonny Rollins’s self-imposed 1959–61 hiatus, taking his horn to the Williamsburg Bridge to shed at all hours of the day and night, is one of the most famous episodes in jazz lore. (“I wasn’t satisfying my own requirements,” he later explained.)

RIP Sonny Rollins, a great jazz talent and the last surviving musician in one of the best photos of men in suits during the 20th century
The black-and-white photo A Great Day in Harlem shows 57 musicians gathered around the steps of a Harlem brownstone, while some kids sit on the curb. The photo was originally shot for an August 1958 issue of Esquire Magazine.

It was nice for the Asian Executive to acknowledge how hard it is for women, and more so, ethnic women, in this country of mostly white males sitting at the table. So don’t go telling me we are a diverse country. We aren’t. And I feel it all the time.

An ancient Greek silver coin depicting a bee! 🐝 😍 Minted in Ephesus, 390-380 BC. Photo Getty Museum #Archaeology
A Getty Museum photo showing a silver tetradrachm (four-drachma coin) stamped in high relief on the obverse of the coin with a bee viewed from above, within a dotted border. It is dark grey silver against a lighter grey background. Relief details include legs, wings, antennae, segmented abdomen and sting. The Greek letters, Ε (‘epsilon’) and Φ (‘phi’), an abbreviation for ‘Ephesus’, are placed either side of the bee. Diameter 7 mm.

From the museum catalogue:
“The reverse shows the foreparts of a stag kneeling in right profile, looking back towards a palm tree. An inscription to the right reads ΚΑΡΝΩ[Ψ] (‘KARNO[PS]’).
The bee, stag, and palm are all emblems of Ephesus, a Greek city on the west coast of Turkey. This city was an important center of worship for the Greek goddess Artemis, and the images on Ephesian coinage typically promote this association. The bee was originally the symbol of an early Anatolian goddess who the Greeks later identified with their goddess, Artemis; so close was the connection that the priestesses of the goddess were called "honey bees." The two Greek letters, Ε (‘epsilon’) and Φ (‘phi’), are an abbreviation for Ephesus. The palm tree alludes to Artemis' birth beneath a palm tree on the island of Delos. The stag – an animal sacred to Artemis – symbolizes the goddess' role as protector of wild animals, and may also refer to the sculptures that flanked her cult statue in the temple at Ephesus”

The Helen of Troy controversy is ridiculous. It’s not history, it’s fiction. How many real historical figures get whitewashed by Hollywood? Why’s that’s ok? Also, in Xena: Warrior Princess, Helen was portrayed by a Black woman, and that was in the 90s! How is inclusive casting a scandal in 2026?
