WAYBOUND just passed 800 subscribers! The next batch of short stories is in-work, exploring the end of the Fools' War (2524), and a few others that might shed some light on the mystery of the SUNRAY program. Or it might not. Who's to say? Strap in, it's about to get crazy...

The Minervan Fleet Air Arm's No. 818 Naval Air Squadron "Flying Ripsaws" conduct a formation flight of newly received Kormoran Astronautics F23K 'Vaquero' interceptors, Minerva's first aerospace fighter, to kick off the 2522 Republics Air & Space Tattoo in Nouveau-Zahlé, Minerva.

A delta-wedge of seven fairly flat, diamond-shaped fighters are silhouetted by a sun, ε Eridani, and Minerva's rings to their left. The PUERTO RICO-Class Dreadnought (DRN-282) is a relatively recent addition to the UN-UNC fleet. While initially derided by sailors as the "Chop Top" this cost-saving move has proven to be, according to UN planners, "good enough." Kane's Defense Research presents this breakdown:

WAYBOUND's ENTERPRISE-Class ECV was originally meant to be the new backbone of UN carrier forces, but a series of horrific accidents due to the unreliability of early 25th century plate gravity caused the class to be cancelled in 2440.

A large, lumbering space carrier with six forward opening flight pods, not unlike the Mercury battlestar from Battlestar Galactica. Four large engine pylons aft are wrapped in radiators. She is marked as the USS ENTERPRISE (ECV-248) with a large United Nations blue stripe on her nose.

The POLARIS-Class Cruiser was the intended backbone of UN-UNC carrier battle groups for almost ninety years, but a production run cut short as her program ran out of funds and political support following a disastrous dev cycle led the ship to be exceedingly scarce.
