I was laid off from my job on Monday due to Random Intermittent Firings (RIF’s), and I’m really struggling with my new reality. The last two days were better than Monday, and I felt a little more clear-headed, albeit lost. Today is turning out to be harder, depression is setting in.

I got into bed with my book and just as I’d settled down the cat bounced in yelling her head off and pranced all over the bed. It turns out there was a MOTH. And it was DEFYING HER. By EXISTING. And doing MOTH THINGS, like flapping about the ceiling light where she couldn’t get at it.

Destiny didn’t fall short of expectations, LEADERSHIP did. Some of the most out of touch people who only saw the $ & held a beloved franchise to the coals because it didn’t fit their margins. Devs suffocated under the immeasurable weight of their greed. Everyone who has worked there deserves better.

A thing to note when seeing the constant decimation of video game studios: this is happening in SO many industries. It's everywhere. There are very few places out there that actually respect their employees and give them their due. We are not people to them, we are a means to pad their pockets.

Panel 2 is a close up of Lodi and ceph's faces. Lodi says "and boy do they hold you... In.. high regard" with a slightly awkward/judgemental expression. Ceph has question marks beside his face. Panels 3 and 4 show Lodi talking to Saint 14 and then crow, with each explaining in depth what the guardian has done for them. Panel 4 shows Lodi talking to Hawthorne, who launches into her famous repetitive tower dialogue but talking about the guardian "he just doesn't give up does he. Took out ghaul, woke up the traveler--". The last panel shows Ceph looking embarrassed while saying "ah, those guys". Lodi says "also, people really seem to like birds around here, huh?"
