Finally got the travelogue put together for PAX West, right on time. Pretty happy with how it turned out for it only being my second "real" editing project. I wanna keep doin' this stuff, it's very satisfying. www.youtube.com/watch?v=shF6...

unfortunate situation where I want to mute anything related to CONTROL Resonant until I get to play it, but the main character and I share a name

I, for one, think it's cool that Meta just decided to completely cripple a page's ability to post links outside of paying them anywhere from $40 to $400 a MONTH for the LUXURY of additional links in a given month. It's very cool and not the most insufferable business-brain decision in the world

flight delay to cap off a pretty frustrating final day in Seattle. Somehow, this is Waluigi's fault

Trip ending on a frustrating note, with either the Renaissance in Seattle or Priceline/Agoda dropping the ball on my hotel confirmation and throwing an extra $1500 on my credit card despite clear evidence that I'm paying for the stay elsewhere. Cool stuff! Great service!

Double Fine Fan Meetup was super pleasant! Had a martini, got my chat on for most of the time I was there (shout out to Orion for giving me an opportunity to not just idle by the bar). Very cool to see people supporting the studio in such a direct and heartfelt way.

I'm at PAX West all weekend! I'll be trawling the Expo Hall today and probably hitting up Summit this afternoon/tomorrow. Excited to be back for the first time in... 14 years, oh god my bones, my old bones

PAX West, where are the Canlander players, show me your Canadian Highlander deck (I'm going to try and hit up the Sheraton pre-PAX board game night thing after dinner assuming I have not expired from dinner overindulgence)

the new Harry Potter show is becoming like AI to me, in that everyone keeps trying to trick me into resigning myself to its inevitability because they don’t want to let me opt out

I don't know how, but I received a 4-Day PAX West badge in my email this morning and...there's a world in which I try to plan a Seattle trip for three weeks from now? Anyone going that needs to split hotel costs that I know?

never been and never will be anything quite like Destiny. to see it so callously broken and discarded, even with its wild highs, is so...pointless and brutal? My heart goes out to the devs who deserved and deserve better. The "leadership" who got Bungie to this point should be ashamed!

The little bits of new story stuff in the last Destiny patch are heartwarming and terribly sad. I so quickly came to love Lodi as a character and seeing him give these little bits of hope for the future is...man, Destiny really is something else. Nothing'll ever be like what D2 grew into.

#marathon I've had a Vault 6 key just sitting idle in my inventory for the better part of the season, terrified to even consider using it, and now I've managed to crew-fill my way into completing the other five vaults. A real "so close, yet so far" stiuation.

Dylan Sabin @dylansabin.bsky.social · 21/05/2026

Pretty wild and special that my timeline is floor to ceiling grief about Destiny 2, a feeling I completely sympathize with while acknowledging that it feels like we've been heading this way for a year. very complicated thoughts about it. Was always optimistic they'd figure it out, in the end.

000

Dylan Sabin @dylansabin.bsky.social · 14/03/2026

it has been eight days since Marathon came out and I have spent roughly three to ten hours a day thinking about or playing Marathon since then. just a complete 180 from "I actively don't want to play an extraction shooter."

@plusoneexp.bsky.social dunno if it's better to ping you here or via email - is there a longer-than-expected timeline for physical Mythic Bastionland books to be sent out? Been a week, no movement beyond the initial confirmation. I know you're in a new warehouse so I'm not like, MAD, just curious!

played a bunch of Lorcana today at the Archazia's Island pre-release, having never played it before today. Hey that game's pretty good! Really pleased with my time.

it's a very subtle thing in Avowed, but I really appreciate that the Aedyrans pronounce Envoy differently than the Paradisans/Living Landers do. Such a tiny piece of world building but it says a lot (to me, at least).

gotta say, the past few months of running RPGs about horrible, bleak settings and people trudging through shit to persevere in spite of the apocalyptic odds sure is making for a good distraction from the horrible, bleak setting and trudging through shit to persevere in spite of the apocalyptic odds

Genuinely gobsmacked and heartbroken by Lynch's passing. There are weird creatives and eccentric people, and then there was him, off in his own world, at once clearly defined and utterly beyond comprehension in the same breath. Nobody truly compares. God, what a blow.

Went 4-4 in the Standard Spotlight at SCGCon today, which is roughly four wins better than I expected to do. If nothing else, though, the show has given me an immediate appreciation for Legacy/Stiflenought. And my 4th+5th OG dual lands!

The TTRPG shelf after a year of delving deeper into the hobby. About eight of these games were here on 1/1/24. The folder holder on the end is full of Mothership modules, Barkeep on the Borderlands, and printouts for various games.

Been chuggin' at a New Thing for a little under two weeks now, attempting to throw habits out the window and just get a first draft done without relentlessly rewriting it. Turns out, not writing in circles is a pretty effective way to just make 21k words happen. are they good? uhhhhhhhh
