Painted my nails for fun. Surprised I hadn't bothered trying this until my thirties (I've had painted nails before as a kid, but that was my older sister amusing herself). Did the right hand tonight and it's much messier than the left. Fun seeing the color change under the light, though.

New policy on ordering anything: if DHL is the only shipping option, the thing isn't getting ordered. They're the least reliable and worst shipping company I've ever used, and they finally lost an expensive enough package that there's no chance I'd ever use them again.

Been working on setting up a personal Forgejo server just because I don't like GitHub holding everything and the smaller forges are cool but I worry about losing things because they're smaller. (I do throw money at a few because I want them to keep going.) Forgejo's CI has been especially nice.

Somehow over the course of my time programming, I went from Perl to BlitzBasic to C to C++ to Go to Rust, with a bunch of other languages in between that didn't have quite the same stickiness. Now I'm back at Perl somehow. This timeline is strange.

It's hard to ignore all the Nextfest demos using AI cover art, nevermind that they're usually very obvious (they at least disclose it). They'd be infinitely more charming if they had done anything else. Considering the cover art is the first thing someone sees, it's really the worst foot forward.
