“Homecoming by Proxy” was the first story I ever read for Biome and I remember thinking in a panic, shit, are all submissions this good???? I feel so lucky to have been able to experience this story ❤️ if you’re a fan of Ursula K Le Guin especially, I promise you’ll love this

Writing tip: Give your protagonist a pet cat. In the final pages, shift to the cat's point of view. Follow the cat outside, through moonlit woods, to a pasture where cows kneel in worship around a glowing spacecraft. As the cat trots up its gangway, we glimpse in the windows an all-cat crew.
